Might have to sign a striker by next week! Could do with another one anyway I think, someone young with a bit of pace.

Danny Ings? Young, hungry, saints fan, proven goal scorer, potential to grow and we have done good business with Burnley before. Not the thread for it I know but felt like speculating anyway ;)

We may need different formation for next couple of league games. J-Rod sole striker? Hope nothing too serious for Rickie, but it doesn't sound good.

Just goes to show things aren't going our way right now. Since when did Rickie ever get a serious injury before? I hope its not as bad as it seems.

Are you at the game? I posted 1.3 seconds after that hit the back of the net on Saints Player and you still beat me to the glory!

lol, sorry no, must be Steve Grant giving me preferential treatment.

Score another goal early in the second half and then take Shaw and Morgan of as a precaution. Would replace them with Gallagher and Reed and go to a 3-5-2 line up :smug:

With Clyne the Hobbit at centre half!?

1538:

Southampton 2-0 Burnley

Rickie Lambert hobbles to the sidelines with a muscle tweak and Jay Rodriguez is ushered on to face his old club. That might be a problem for Saints who are without the suspended Dani Osvaldo for the next few games

Just make what Osvaldo did even more annoying

Hopefully todays match counts as his first of the 3 match ban, if the club can prove that he was fit and would have been in the team today.

Lambert injury sounded like a muscle tweak from radio.

Hope so, sensible to come off if that is the case. Trouble is, a couple of games is still not good because of Osvaldo's suspension.

Today's game counts as part of the ban, his fitness situation is irrelevant to any suspension.

Lambert has tweaked his hip. Not a massive problem but the bad news is that he has had hip problems at Saints before and we've often had to play him through them - I suspect we'll have to do the same the second half of this season only hopefully if Osvaldo is fit we won't have to play Lambert all the time.
