Saint-Armstrong Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 http://www.thefa.com/news/governance/2013/dec/osvaldo-and-woodman-charged Uh oh. Thought it was Tony Jimenez who was involved? Osvaldo charged with violent conduct. He has until Monday to respond to these charges.
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 What is he supposed to have done? I've seen some pictures where Cody Cropper is keeping him away from it all but I assumed that was to stop him from getting involved rather than pull him away after he had done something.
farawaysaint Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 Hahahahahahaha all we need is for Dani to get a 10 match ban to **** on our year
Hedgehog Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 It was their camp that sparked it, yet Osvaldo ends up with a more seriuos charge! Who reported what happened, and was there any video evidence? At least it shows Osvaldo is passionate about our club.
Marsdinho Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 If you watch the footage again, their GK coach seems to gesture that someone grabbed him by the balls....assumed that was Jiminez, but it could have been Dani.
Saints67 Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 What's the worst punishment the FA can throw at Osvaldo? Because that's what he'll get no doubt. It'll hardly be a severe reprimand.
Window Cleaner Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 What's the worst punishment the FA can throw at Osvaldo? Because that's what he'll get no doubt. It'll hardly be a severe reprimand. probably get a couple of matches suspension, 3 may be same as a red card.
dronskisaint Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 Hahahahahahaha all we need is for Dani to get a 10 match ban to **** on our year Er - Sit down, take deep breaths - do you want a bag to blow in to, anyone we can call for you?
Saint Charlie Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 Violent Conduct is a 3 match ban isn't it?
St Chalet Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 Violent conduct is a three match ban for starters and more depending on severity. I can't imagine they would have charged him if it wasn't clear he had done something. Bugger.
Sour Mash Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 He's the type of personality that is always going to miss a fair few games a season due to incidents like this by the looks of things.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 Idiot! Seems to get involved in all the girly fights, but doesnt like getting stuck in on the pitch? #odd
farawaysaint Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 Er - Sit down, take deep breaths - do you want a bag to blow in to, anyone we can call for you? Suarez got a 10 match ban for violent conduct, Barton got similar, reading through the handbook it's incredibly vague, they can essentially impose whatever punishment they like including lifetime bans (not that I think there's even a remote chance of that happening), it just seems a total joke in all honesty. With our already significant injury list I'd like the bag please
pap Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 Arf. Latest from Twitter? "Heard from my contact that after the game @danistone25 slapped Pardew for his actions regarding Fonte previously" Jesus wept* (*would be fkn funny if true tho)
smithy Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 My mate at work is a Geordie and was at the game, word on the street up there is that it was indeed Jimenez who kicked off with their goalkeeping coach, but Osvaldo followed them down the tunnel and gave their bloke a slap. He told me on Monday that it was likely Osvaldo would be charged but I dismissed it as a wind up.
Window Cleaner Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 (edited) Arf. Latest from Twitter? "Heard from my contact that after the game @danistone25 slapped Pardew for his actions regarding Fonte previously" Jesus wept* (*would be fkn funny if true tho) What you mean deliberately not shaking his or Morgan's hand although he'd made the effort to go over to our bench and shake hands with Adam. Childish behaviour, like the little Spurs mascot girl who drew her hand away from Suarez last Sunday and stuck her fingers up. Probably made him really angry, serves them right. shirleysfc Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 It couldn't have been much if this is the first we're hearing of it... famous last words!
trousers Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 It couldn't have been much if this is the first we're hearing of it My thoughts too. This sort of thing is usually all over the media before the FA get around to issuing a charge
John Boy Saint Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 Pardew said it was just Handbags on MOTD
Dalek2003 Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 I hope it's not true. We paid good money for that player, we want him on the pitch delivering the goods not sat in the stands serving a ban. That would be shameful if it were to happen and IF it were true. I am sure the report is not true.
offix Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 Hahahahahahaha all we need is for Dani to get a 10 match ban to **** on our year That would not be so bad. We would have a better chance of winning those games
doggface Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 Their gk coach was kicked in the balls 100% but I thought it was Jimenez. Surely that would carry a charge. If the fa have not charged jiminez then perhaps it was osvaldo who kicked out?
ART Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 Someone from our bench spat into the face of the Newcastle coach. Spitting sounds like what Oswaldo would find easy after playing in Italy.
Mikey88 Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 Someone from our bench spat into the face of the Newcastle coach. Spitting sounds like what Oswaldo would find easy after playing in Italy. Pretty sure Pardew denied anyone spat at anyone.
kpturner Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 Pardew said it was just Handbags on MOTD Standard meaningless rhetoric whenever there is a fracas. Means nothing.

Norm Posted 18 December, 2013 Posted 18 December, 2013 He's the type of personality that is always going to miss a fair few games a season due to incidents like this by the looks of things. Exactly my thoughts when I heard the news. One of my neighbours is Italian and he told me when we signed Os' that we had bought a bundle of trouble. Seems he liked a ruck at his previous club.

Got too involved at the end of the Villa game and could have been sent off against Sunderland .
whelk Posted 19 December, 2013 Posted 19 December, 2013 Pardew said it was just Handbags on MOTD 'Handbags at half-mast' was what he said. That will confuse any enquiry in trying to understand what he meant. Swinging into each other's knees?
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 21 December, 2013 Posted 21 December, 2013 This is not going to be a popular view but I am coming to the conclusion he is a bit of a liability and I am surprised NC/MP went for him knowing he has this weakness in his game. He has skill for sure but so far his bad points outweigh his good and if he did spit in the guy's face not sure I want him at Southampton.

So after a week, you think it wouldn´t have made the news if someone spit in that brawl?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 21 December, 2013 Posted 21 December, 2013 if he did spit in the guy's face not sure I want him at Southampton. 100% agree! Spitting, literally, dribbles contempt, and it is the noxious, viscous disdain of the act that makes it such a powerful and intimate insult Hoping he leaves in Jan
jamesfp1 Posted 21 December, 2013 Posted 21 December, 2013 Nobody spat at anybody. Especially Osvaldo, spitting is not very rock & roll, man.
Saint Charlie Posted 27 December, 2013 Posted 27 December, 2013 Bizarrely quiet on this. If the FA still havent decided whether to charge or not then thats a bit of a joke, the game was days a couple of week ago FFS.

He's been charged, but we don't know if Saints have decided to appeal or not (the deadline has passed). If it was a 3 game ban then after the Everton game he would have served it (as he also missed the Spurs and Cardiff games).

He is not currently suspended, if he was he would appear on the FA List, which he doesn't. Apparently he kicked the Newcastle GK coach in the nuts, therefore scotching all the talk that he is not an accurate striker. http://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/suspensions Note that Morgan already appears on the list, even though his suspension only came into force yesterday. It would seem that Dani's hearing has been held over until the FA Disciplinary Committee can meet to hear his evidence. Probably next week as they are all on holidays at the moment.

I wasn't aware we appealed. Is it one of those ones where if you appeal unsuccessfully the ban could be extended?
VectisSaint Posted 27 December, 2013 Posted 27 December, 2013 I wasn't aware we appealed. Is it one of those ones where if you appeal unsuccessfully the ban could be extended? Usually only happens if the appeal is fatuous. Given that the length of the ban is undecided, it may be difficult to say if it gets extended. I would imagine if Dani has appealed and requested a personal hearing that he and the Club must believe he has grounds for a successful appeal.
Convict Colony Posted 27 December, 2013 Posted 27 December, 2013 FYI Osvaldo was injured vs spurs and I believe he missed the Cardiff game due to the birth of his baby. That was weird as she only posted a video of her dancing on twitter today with her pregnant belly out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 2
SimplyRed&White Posted 27 December, 2013 Posted 27 December, 2013 You do not appeal a charge, you appeal a conviction! He was asked to provide evidence to counter any charge. They will listen and then consider and deliver the verdict. This is different to a Red card which imposes a 3 match ban (for violent conduct) He was not red carded. The FA are charging on the basis of the ref's report.
