Its the 1st of Jan FFS, the doors don't shut tomorrow. Let's get old salty balls back in 2 years time with an update. Probaly means that all the respectable candidates who can afford a flight are already there and what's left to come will be arriving in overloaded Trabants and Polski Fiats. I fail to see how age isn't a relevant factor? But that's not what we're being offered is it? There isn't much point making up hypothetical scenarios. What we are getting is youngish immigrants that proportionately raise the level of crime. And we're swapping them for sending over wealthy retirees to Spain and France and skilled workers to Canada, New Zealand and Australia, all as your own report shows contribute proportionately lower to crime levels. Mine is to make some evidence-based observations about where, if anywhere, the majority of this inflow of people will go. For the record, I have a far deeper family connection to Saints than you, and Southampton the city is indeed crap. It may have the excuse that Hitler and the local council made it that way, but its crapness is inescapable. One of its saving graces, however, is its immigrant population. This is where it gets really depressing. Such is your narcissistic desire of the adoration from others that you start threads like this one, the one of Diuedonne, and the one on the Muslim shopworker (to name a few) in bad faith. That is, you start them not because you have a particular view, but to reassure yourself that with a “popular” thread, you are by extension popular. So again, what is your EVIDENCE for this happening? Whatt EVIDENCE do you have to counter John Salt’s comments? Has anyone on this thread suggested that thousands of immigrants will be flooding in tomorrow? The question was asked of the forum on their views and most have given them one way or another. His flowerpots estate usage to get down with the kids is funny as his him living in Kenny knowing criminals up here, Pap you are a legend and on your supposed payment of tax you should be living in the London Kensington not West Derby Village la ha ha ha. No doubt all the major Europeans countries will receive a number of folk from these countries not just the UK . Yes there will be a variety of folk coming to the UK bringing a wealth of skills good and bad . What the impact will be . Nobody really knows but there is no doubt a lot of hysteria around most will be unfounded but some will be founded . Some folk will be housed straight away as they will not have had time to find accommodation . So housing departments could find themselves inundated with requests but then again they may not. A while back Germany was light on about 70000 engineers, if there were any spare in Roumania the Germans would have snaffled them up by now as the have with the Poles. I expect even the UK is looking for them, must be a shortage as half of the Unis seem to produce specialists in football marketing and golf course design these days. Only this morning I heard on Radio 4 that Greenland is desperate for mine workers - there aren't enough suitably able people in the indigenous population.
