Roger Posted 31 December, 2013 Posted 31 December, 2013 Clyne is fast and robust, by far the better of our 2 regular full backs at this stage in theire respective careers, but he's not an academy lad and doesn't get the same hype. He's hardly made error at back and was getting forward and final ball improving ie providing cross for villa equaliser before he got injured. Hazard will test him as he's given Clyne most trouble this season IMO.

Leicestersaint Posted 31 December, 2013 Posted 31 December, 2013 3-1 to Saints! The comeback starts on 1 January!
DrunkenSaint Posted 31 December, 2013 Posted 31 December, 2013 Davis Clyne Lovren Fonte Shaw Morgan Cork Lallana Davis Ramirez Rodriguez Give Lambert a breather, he looked tired today not just in movement but some of his passing looked laboured from the start. This team please, need to look to the future and this would be a good test for jrod and Ramirez.
suewhistle Posted 31 December, 2013 Posted 31 December, 2013 3-1 to Saints! The comeback starts on 1 January! Usual pub, Leicester?
Dr Who? Posted 31 December, 2013 Posted 31 December, 2013 Going to be tough, but fancy us to grab the win..... Do not want the first double to be over us!
InvictaSaint Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 What's the weather like in SO15 chaps and chapesses? Setting off from flooded Kent shortly but don't want to schlep all the way down the M3 if there's a danger of the game being called off. Forecast doesn't look great (no Tommy jokes please...).
Batman Posted 1 January, 2014 Author Posted 1 January, 2014 the weather is horrendous in the south west. heading your way

Setting off from flooded Kent shortly but don't want to schlep all the way down the M3 if there's a danger of the game being called off. Forecast doesn't look great (no Tommy jokes please...). Horrible - and likely to remain wet and windy till kick-off. But I'd say almost no risk of game being called off.
eurosaint Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Its been pelting down all night here (west Wight) and predicted to keep going ! I'm getting a bit worried about it TBH !

Strong wind with heavier gusts, rain is persistent and does not look like it is going to get any better; will they play, don't know for sure.
suewhistle Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Strong wind with heavier gusts, rain is persistent and does not look like it is going to get any better; will they play, don't know for sure. East of SO15 it's raining, but the impression is made worse by the wind and the sound of the rain on the pane. Off fairly soon but keeping an eye on the news..
Winchester Red Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Not sure we've ever had a game postponed at SMS for rain have we?
dubai_phil Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Been off-line for ages (Hooray you all cry) Thought I saw a big change in Gaston when he came on v Everton, besdies the shirt & goal thing. Before the goal, Chambers had bombed up the wing and got caught out of position. Gaston was already back covering him in the RB slot. Also later saw him bust a gut to get back. Perhaps now would prefer him to get more game time than JWP this afternoon, otherwise same side IF they have all recovered with Morgan back in for JWP. Londoner Brew Pub on Soi 33 Sukhumvit tonight. Amazed we bumped into a Saints lass in her SRL Away shirt on Sunday. Shame her hubby was wearing a Lamela shirt.
sydneysaint17 Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Davis Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw Morgan Cork Gaston Lallana Davis Jay Rod
HedgeEnder Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Not sure we've ever had a game postponed at SMS for rain have we? Yes, a midweek game when Redknapp was in charge
LeBenali Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Yes, a midweek game when Redknapp was in charge Coventry?
Colinjb Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Not sure we've ever had a game postponed at SMS for rain have we? Crystal Palace a few years ago I believe.
Gastón10 Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Davis Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw Cork Morgan Lallana Ramirez JWP J-Rod
Roger Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Davis Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw Cork Morgan Lallana Ramirez JWP J-Rod No way jwp will play was rubbish at Everton.
Appy Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Crystal Palace a few years ago I believe. Yeah it was, I remember a game in 06/07 against Leicester that they delayed for about half an hour to drain the pitch.
Window Cleaner Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 No way jwp will play was rubbish at Everton. in a totally different role which he shouldn't have been given in the first place, he's not got the qualities of a DM but we didn't have any choice with 2 of our 3 DMs out for that game. The real solution might have been Clyne at LB and Shaw at DML but perhaps Clyne wasn't up to 90 minutes.

Window Cleaner Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 We have gaston and Davis who can play there. not really no, it's a specialised role for players who can tackle, don't mind a bit of rough and tumble and who can win the ball in the air, Davis doesn't play well there which is why Mauricio tries to shoe in JWP. When Cork went off on Sunday we had JWP and Davis at DM and it was a shambles which led to Everton just strolling through to score..again.
shirleysfc Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Behave, ward prowse though hasn't been in form in his best position since hull. Well that's not true. Do one.
Roger Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Well that's not true. Do one. See you've piped up again. He really hasn't, taken off early vs Chelsea, villa and offered v little. Will be great but he's been off form.

Shroppie Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Ramirez starts. Lambert on bench. No Osvaldo. Clyne or Chambers?
Saint_Tony Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Interesting line up. J-Rod as the central striker I assume?
Bobbyboy Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 I guess West Ham don't want Rickie injured then.
leithsaint Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Feeling more positive now. Chelsea team not as strong as I thought it would be, though they seem to have more 'game changers' on the bench.
trousers Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Chelsea FC @chelseafc Team to face @SouthamptonFC (4-2-3-1): Cech; Azpilicueta, Cahill, Terry ©, Cole; Mikel, Ramires; Schurrle, Mata, Hazard; Torres. #CFC subs are: Schwarzer, Kalas, Essien, Oscar, Willian, Eto'o and Ba. #CFC
Olallana Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 I would´ve preferred Clyne against Hazard but dont know his fitness level and tbf Chambers hasn´t done anything wrong.
Dr Who? Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 I do not think Sir Rickie is fully fit. Not sure about one up front. The weather is going to have a huge impact on our game and feel this is the reason for having Rickie on the bench as it will be hard going. Bring him on in the 2nd half and fire some long balls up to him in the wind!
Glasgow_Saint Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Osvaldo still "sick" Mistake to drop Lambert Glad to see Ramirez start - hope he takes his chance

Olallana Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Osvaldo still "sick" Mistake to drop Lambert Glad to see Ramirez start - hope he takes his chance Is this like when you said that Shaw was rested for the Spurs game? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/shaw-saints-are-back-on-the-up-1259331.aspx The 18-year-old was disappointed to be ruled out of that game, but says that brief absence allowed him to fully participate in a physical game at the Cardiff City Stadium yesterday. “I think it was the right decision in the end,” Shaw said.
Pancake Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Kelv Clyne, Fonte, Lovren, Shaw Cork, Morgan Lallana, Davis, Gaston JRod Bit of a switch up, bit I would like to see it. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk Oh good good, not too wrong there then. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
Saint Charlie Posted 1 January, 2014 Posted 1 January, 2014 Martin Atkinson is the worst PL ref so lets see what massive cock up he makes today.
