farawaysaint Posted 29 December, 2013 Posted 29 December, 2013 (edited) Very good today I thought, his distribution was amazing which is something our keepers have struggled with recently. Edited 29 December, 2013 by farawaysaint
Shanghai Saint Posted 29 December, 2013 Posted 29 December, 2013 Agreed. So much more authority than Gazza.
S-Clarke Posted 29 December, 2013 Posted 29 December, 2013 He wasn't really tested a great deal to be honest, but ended up having to pick the ball out of his net twice...! One good save, which you'd expect any keeper to make, but other than that we kept them at arms length from having shots, which makes the goals we gave away even more infuriating.
Saint Garrett Posted 29 December, 2013 Posted 29 December, 2013 Yup, he had a good game, a few good saves, good distribution, and the defence looked much more confident with him there (it does help when Fonte Lovren and Shaw play though!) No chance for the goals.
pele Posted 29 December, 2013 Posted 29 December, 2013 Thought distribution the best he has ever done, not one of his strong points! No chance with goals.......frustrating game!
Chez Posted 29 December, 2013 Posted 29 December, 2013 He will be slated in future games no doubt, but right now he is by far and a way the best option we have. Gazza is nowhere near good enough IMO.
ottery st mary Posted 29 December, 2013 Posted 29 December, 2013 Well done KD....much improved display..
ART Posted 29 December, 2013 Posted 29 December, 2013 Thought he was looking more meaner and leaner, looks in good shape.
Horley CTFC Saint Posted 29 December, 2013 Posted 29 December, 2013 Watched Bart B playing at Crawley today and he had a good game too despite being on the losing side
Glasgow_Saint Posted 29 December, 2013 Posted 29 December, 2013 Good kicking, didnt have much to do One decent save from Lakaku at 2-1
Bearsy Posted 29 December, 2013 Posted 29 December, 2013 Bit worried bout his kicking, numerous times you could see him trying to punt it into touch but they were falling just short. Maybe lack of match fitness? Hopefully back to normal service vs chelsea.
david in sweden Posted 30 December, 2013 Posted 30 December, 2013 Thought he was looking more meaner and leaner, looks in good shape. I agree Art, let's hope he can hold some decent form till Boruc is back in contention.
Bailey Posted 30 December, 2013 Posted 30 December, 2013 The 'keepers amongst you would have noticed a few occasions yesterday when Davis was quick to come off his line to collect the ball on the edge of the area and nullify any potential danger. While this is relatively simple and to be expected from a 'keeper, Gazzaniga's decision-making is one of his weaknesses and there have been a handful of incidents in recent weeks where he's failed to come and collect, leading to a goalscoring opportunity for the oppo - take the Aston Villa game as case in point. Davis' distribution was also much improved, possibly the best I've seen from him. The back four looked a lot more settled with Davis in between the sticks and I expect him to continue until Boruc is back from injury.
benjii Posted 30 December, 2013 Posted 30 December, 2013 Bit worried bout his kicking, numerous times you could see him trying to punt it into touch but they were falling just short. Maybe lack of match fitness? Hopefully back to normal service vs chelsea. Haha!
dronskisaint Posted 30 December, 2013 Posted 30 December, 2013 Thought distribution the best he has ever done, not one of his strong points! No chance with goals.......frustrating game! Was about to post exactly this about his distribution today....a number of very accurate first time passes over short and long distance. Certainly he inspires more confidence in our defence to use him in their posession build-up and as an outlet when chasing down through balls, good to see him back.
