bjk Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Tough one saturday for our first home game but i feel we'll do enough for a point. Saints 2 Birmingham 2
MulletMan Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Saints - Brum 0-1 Phillips will score in the 85.th minute.
This Charming Man Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 We'll start off well, waste a few decent chances then Brum will take over the game, knock the ball around as if we're not there and stroll to an easy 2-0 win. Phillips will also score and celebrate infront of the Northam, despite the fact that he's going to score up the Chapel end. That ladies and gentleman is a fact.
trousers Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 0 - 0 with Killer going off injured after 23 mins
Master Bates Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Then there’s Southampton’s match with Birmingham. It’s got to be Birmingham hasn’t it? After all, the Southampton team is made up of kids, they’ve got no players, I reckon the groundsman will be playing next. Seriously though, I can see them shipping plenty of goals this season even though they didn’t do too badly up at Cardiff last weekend. Birmingham on the other hand have some good players, they have the likes of Marcus Bent, James McFadden and Kevin Phillips in their squad who all performed well in the Premier League so I see them doing well this season. http://community.footballpools.com/blog/2008/08/13/tony-cascarinos-column/
SNSUN Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Birmingham will beat most people in this league this season, but wouldn't it be nice to give them a wake up call in the CCC. It won't happen but it'd be nice. Saints 1 - Birmingham 4
trousers Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Any thoughts on whether JP will shuffle the pack a little for the visit of Birmingham. Given they are one of the 'big boys' in this league it wouldn't surprise me if the likes of Rasiak and John figure more than they have done recently....
Ponty Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 I think we could get caned in this one. I hope not, but I'm predicting a 3 or 4 nil defeat.
Dannyboy_Saint Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Need to play a few of the more experienced players i reckon: Davis James, Svensson, Perry, Surman Wotton, Shniederlin Lallana, McGoldrick, Holmes John That team may have enough about it to get some sort of result against Brum but their strikeforce looks very strong and our defence is still a bit creaky. Im going for a 2-2 draw but with us under the cosh for long periods of the game.
twoandahalfstuds Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 I'm letting my heart rule my head with this one. We'll sneak a lucky win after being under pressure for ages, and would have been thrashed but for heroics from Kelvin and Killer. Later on in the game as the Birmingham players become frustrated and tired a last minute corner bounces of Killer's arse and into the back of the net, St. Mary's goes wild as Killer sprint round the pitch celebrating his last minute winner!!
Papa Shango Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Birmingham have by far the best squad in the league on paper, and should walk the league. Saints 0-3 Birmingham.
Saints Noog Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Saints 1-0 Birmingham, don't care who scores as long as they do. Philips leaves on a stretcher 2 mins in after falling and breaking his neck, has to retire. shame
s0108787 Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 2-1 saints McGoldrick and John i'll go along with that.
saintsforlife7 Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Saints 1-3 Birmingham, we can't defend very well from set pieces, and with jaidi in there team and some proper strikers they could run riot
buctootim Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 2-3 Saints. Good performance. Goals from John.
trousers Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 6-0 to Saints http://www.skybet.com/skybet?action=GoEvEv&id=11383740&aff=1572
Saintjersey Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 http://www.skybet.com/skybet?action=GoEvEv&id=11383740&aff=1572 Isn't there.
SaintJackoInHurworth Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Hopefully we will manage a win! I'll be an optimist and go for: Saints 2 Brum 1 (If I was a pessimist with a hint of realism I would go for Saints 1 Brum 3!!)
WealdSaint Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Filled with confidence having got yesterdays match right. I'm going for 1-1. I think we need to play Stern John, otherwise the ball will come back at us too quickly
sfcuk fan Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Never say die, never surrender, no room in my life for negatives ...... so ...... s0d it, ....... 3 - 0 to the mighty red yoof team .
Rusaldo Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 2 - 1 saints. 0-1 down at ht Shniederlin and John The Saints Scorers Mcfadden For Brum
Toadhall Saint Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 can't see us winning this one but stranger things have happened - either way we've got to get right behind the lads in red & White from the off!
voteforpedro Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 I think it could be a fairly high scoring game, and would love another 4-3 win like last time birmingham came to sms. hopefully i'm wrong but i think 2-3 birmingham. anyone got any idea what ticket sales are like?
SaintDonkey Posted 14 August, 2008 Posted 14 August, 2008 I can't see us winning this but maybe we'll luck a draw? 2-2 please
Mr X Posted 14 August, 2008 Posted 14 August, 2008 Saints - 0 Brum - 4 The difference in class will be obvious
St Marco Posted 14 August, 2008 Posted 14 August, 2008 I think really it will be a case of damaging limitations. Birmingham have a good squad but more importantly they have lethal finishers. It would be great to win but i think we might play for a draw like last saturday, and in all honesty i would be happy with a point. My heart says 0-0 with Killer taking motm again but my head says 0-4
John B Posted 14 August, 2008 Posted 14 August, 2008 I think really it will be a case of damaging limitations. Birmingham have a good squad but more importantly they have lethal finishers. It would be great to win but i think we might play for a draw like last saturday, and in all honesty i would be happy with a point. My heart says 0-0 with Killer taking motm again but my head says 0-4 I think you are right St Marco but probably not 0 4 I think we will at least score
itchen Posted 14 August, 2008 Posted 14 August, 2008 Too early in the season for our new team to get much out of this one I'm afraid. I predict 3-1 to Birmingham- but I hope I'm very much wrong.
saint_stevo Posted 14 August, 2008 Posted 14 August, 2008 join in the fun- http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=214
Bourno Posted 14 August, 2008 Posted 14 August, 2008 Unfortunately I think that this has defeat written all over it.
Saints67 Posted 14 August, 2008 Posted 14 August, 2008 2-1. Stern John back to haunt Brum with the winner!
Wildgoose Posted 14 August, 2008 Posted 14 August, 2008 Hope I'm wrong, but I reckon we'll eventually be well beaten after showing promising signs. 0-3 :-(
Leicestersaint Posted 14 August, 2008 Posted 14 August, 2008 One of our toughest home matches this season - any points from this would be good but I go for a nail-biting 2-1 (ever the optimist)!
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 14 August, 2008 Posted 14 August, 2008 Saints 4 Brum 4 I'd be very happy with a point from this game after looking at the players Brum have in their squad. I don't think Saints the height or strength to defend against them so might as well go all attack and hope we get lucky.
