Been wasting some time and thought I would check out the south american leagues and looked for some articles that would highlight the best most talented youngsters to be playing on the continent who could adapt to our league.

Had already done some research on the below 2 before I found this article, I can't remember who our south american expert is but would be interested in the opinion on these dudes, am liking Balenta and Lanzini but reckon they are $$$$.

He is 20 and turns 21 on Sunday.

well he's been injured for quite a while apparently, it was in the Echo the other day although nobody on this forum seemed to know that. He hasn't been training for weeks now, since about the Sunderland C1C game I think.

Here is the article http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/10915250.Yeovil_date_gets_Saints_midfielder_buzzing/?ref=twtrec he returned to training last week after a knee injury. It would be good if he was fit in time for the FA Cup game as I doubt he will get much more of a chance this season, barring another injury crisis, with the number of midfielders we have.

Yup, was very highly rated if training ground reports are anything to go by.

I'm watching the Wednesday vs Leeds game. Connor Wickham has been outstanding, I can't believe he's only 20. Definitely one for the future if he keeps maturing like this.

He was bought v young by sunderland and wasted, big big fee if I remember rightly. Big lad, good attributes, hopefully it works for him.

Gray deserves some luck aswell, excellent coach and good guy

I dont understand the Isgrove situation. He impressed me over here in Austria during the summer.

Perhaps that was a one off and he hasn't hit that mark since or maybe your judgement isn't quite as good as you'd like to think? If he has to beat shaw or clyne in training every day his ability might be nullified. Maybe that explains why we don't play wingers. Anyone that plays out there in training does nothing because our fullbacks are so good?

@guardian_sport: West Ham offer Joleon Lescott £90k-a-week to join relegation struggle http://t.co/on1oFMbMIa via @guardian

Though when you read it, he's not keen. Don't know if it would be worth getting him on loan with a view to when his contract runs out. If he wants to boost his England chances he might be worth it? (No idea what he's on wage wise ATM, but can't see us matching 90k)

If he was worth £90k a week he'd be a regular for City. Sounds like a typical Allardyce signing.

Will Hughes at Derby would be pure piff in our system, as would Halilovic.

Is "piff" positive or negative? I'm not down with the lingo!

Harry Maguire at Sheffield United would be worth looking at. 20 year old, 6'4'' Centre Back, been their player of the season twice running, had Man Utd scouting him last season and improving all the time. English too, was called up for U21s. I've only caught glimpses of him in highlights but he ticks all the right boxes on paper.

Whichever way you're intending that it's unlikely we'll buy him as apparently Liverpool have an agreement with Derby for first dibs.

No he hasn't, it's just paper talk. All good youngsters are constantly linked with joining top clubs, we should know that as much as everyone. If we can sign Osvaldo we can sign a Derby player.

Possibly, but these things do happen. I had an Evertonian mate who told me about the Rooney to Man U deal ages before it ever got in the press, apparently they'd arranged something similar. You may be right tho. On your last point, I wasn't indicating we couldn't buy him for any other reason that another team may have already pipped us to it so no need to get snippy.
