Staying on topic with Greece, Kostas Mitroglou would be an amazing signing. Not sure how realistic it is though as Olympiakos are through to the last 16 of the Champions League

Been wasting some time and thought I would check out the south american leagues and looked for some articles that would highlight the best most talented youngsters to be playing on the continent who could adapt to our league.

Had already done some research on the below 2 before I found this article, I can't remember who our south american expert is but would be interested in the opinion on these dudes, am liking Balenta and Lanzini but reckon they are $$$$.

I dont understand the Isgrove situation. He impressed me over here in Austria during the summer.

Maybe he hasn't impressed MoPo though?

well he's been injured for quite a while apparently, it was in the Echo the other day although nobody on this forum seemed to know that. He hasn't been training for weeks now, since about the Sunderland C1C game I think.

He is 20 and turns 21 on Sunday.

Here is the article http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/10915250.Yeovil_date_gets_Saints_midfielder_buzzing/?ref=twtrec he returned to training last week after a knee injury. It would be good if he was fit in time for the FA Cup game as I doubt he will get much more of a chance this season, barring another injury crisis, with the number of midfielders we have.

Yup, was very highly rated if training ground reports are anything to go by.

I'm watching the Wednesday vs Leeds game. Connor Wickham has been outstanding, I can't believe he's only 20. Definitely one for the future if he keeps maturing like this.

He was bought v young by sunderland and wasted, big big fee if I remember rightly. Big lad, good attributes, hopefully it works for him.

Gray deserves some luck aswell, excellent coach and good guy

Everton sign aiden mcgeady

decent signing. No doubt would be laughed at had we got him with alps and bazza going nuts. but good enough for a very good everton side

Dont think Alps would´ve gone nuts since this player is british... ;)

Perhaps that was a one off and he hasn't hit that mark since or maybe your judgement isn't quite as good as you'd like to think? If he has to beat shaw or clyne in training every day his ability might be nullified. Maybe that explains why we don't play wingers. Anyone that plays out there in training does nothing because our fullbacks are so good?

@guardian_sport: West Ham offer Joleon Lescott £90k-a-week to join relegation struggle http://t.co/on1oFMbMIa via @guardian

Though when you read it, he's not keen. Don't know if it would be worth getting him on loan with a view to when his contract runs out. If he wants to boost his England chances he might be worth it? (No idea what he's on wage wise ATM, but can't see us matching 90k)

If he was worth £90k a week he'd be a regular for City. Sounds like a typical Allardyce signing.

I notice that Moyes is watching Cagliari today and supposedly more specifically, Davide Astori.

Or he could be there watching a juventus player which is more likely IMO

Will Hughes at Derby would be pure piff in our system, as would Halilovic.
]

Is "piff" positive or negative? I'm not down with the lingo!

Harry Maguire at Sheffield United would be worth looking at. 20 year old, 6'4'' Centre Back, been their player of the season twice running, had Man Utd scouting him last season and improving all the time. English too, was called up for U21s. I've only caught glimpses of him in highlights but he ticks all the right boxes on paper.

Whichever way you're intending that it's unlikely we'll buy him as apparently Liverpool have an agreement with Derby for first dibs.

No he hasn't, it's just paper talk. All good youngsters are constantly linked with joining top clubs, we should know that as much as everyone. If we can sign Osvaldo we can sign a Derby player.

Lewis Holtby is for sale apparently - would take him in a second. Will probably go for around £10-12m. Sell Ramirez and bring him in (although I would like to see if Ramirez can turn the corner, has looked decent in his last few appearances).

Holtby would be good, hughesy would be excellent though, top temperament for a young lad. Like Pastor said he woukd fit into our system pretty perfectly, creative talent and not scared to work hard.

Agree on Hughes. Top player for such a young kid.

It's ironic that Holtby has actually had less impact than Ramirez has, but it's suggested we should sign him and get rid of Gaston.

It's not an indication of Ramirez's impact, more of the fact that he hasn't seemed to be part of Pochettino's plans. I like Ramirez, and think he should be given time.

Possibly, but these things do happen. I had an Evertonian mate who told me about the Rooney to Man U deal ages before it ever got in the press, apparently they'd arranged something similar. You may be right tho. On your last point, I wasn't indicating we couldn't buy him for any other reason that another team may have already pipped us to it so no need to get snippy.

I wouldnt get rid of Gaston TBF, but they are slightly different players.

Lacina Traore move to WHU is unlikely now. I know the guy has an injury, but is it worth getting a loan move for the guy? Surely wouldn't hurt us, especially if Monaco are willing to pay his wages!

As far as I'm aware Everton hijacked the deal and he's off there?
