Window Cleaner Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 I hadn't realised that MP and Gazza share the same home town of Murphy. I hope that is not a selection influence!!!! Isn't Gazza from Santa Fé ?
simo Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 I think its time we the fans and players enjoy our xmas dust ourselves down man the **** up and get on with getting back to what we know we can be ! 3 nil saints, Goals from Lambert, Jrod and Lallana !
Window Cleaner Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 Right new news from the Echo. Definitely out, Artur,Guly,Victor. Everybody else could or could not play but a few have ongoing injuries.
Ohio Saint Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 Isn't Gazza from Santa Fé ? According to the OS, Murphy is a town on the outskirts of Santa Fe. So you are correctish. I know this should not worry me...........but. Paulo was born in January 1992 in the small Argentinian town of Murphy, on the outskirts of Santa Fe. If true, best Christmas present ever. Maybe….Kelvin isn't that much better than Gazza in my opinion.
dubai_phil Posted 25 December, 2013 Posted 25 December, 2013 Oh great. [h=2]MATCH FACTS[/h] Head-to-head Cardiff have won their last seven home matches with Southampton, each by a one-goal margin. The away side has not won this fixture in the last 17 league attempts since Southampton's 5-3 win at Ninian Park on 27 December 1965. Soccerguy whingeing on Twitter about taking a pasting in the full article lol http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25442274
Batman Posted 25 December, 2013 Author Posted 25 December, 2013 Southampton quartet Kelvin Davis, Luke Shaw, Nathaniel Clyne and Dani Osvaldo could all be fit to play. Jose Fonte and Maya Yoshida may feature after minor injuries, but Artur Boruc and Victor Wanyama are out. dunno how accurate
St Chalet Posted 25 December, 2013 Posted 25 December, 2013 Fairly sure that news was from Simon Peach, who got it from the club.
Matthew Le God Posted 25 December, 2013 Posted 25 December, 2013 Southampton quartet Kelvin Davis, Luke Shaw, Nathaniel Clyne and Dani Osvaldo could all be fit to play. Window Cleaner Posted 25 December, 2013 Posted 25 December, 2013 Tan has just, or is about to, invested 15 million in a Bosnian club, perhaps he'll give McKay a job there.
Roger Posted 25 December, 2013 Posted 25 December, 2013 Reckon Fox and Jos will start again. No they won't stop taking rubbish.
Saint_Tony Posted 25 December, 2013 Posted 25 December, 2013 Cardiff win available at 11/5. Certainly wouldn't be touching us at 5/4, far too short. Difficult game to call, will be nervously waiting on team news. Even if Davis is available, not sure MP will drop Gazzaniga
davefizzy14 Posted 25 December, 2013 Posted 25 December, 2013 I'm going for a 2-1 win with Lambert getting both. COYR!!
Jack Posted 25 December, 2013 Posted 25 December, 2013 Davis may be average at best, but he's a lot calmer than Gazza and less prone to error. It's a weakness rather than a liability. This. Gazzaniga really shouldn't be anywhere near a team in the top couple of league. He actually doesn't seem to have a grasp on goalkeeping. He doesn't know how or when to leave his line, how to read the game, how to organise men in front of him. KD may be prone to a howler, but at least the men in front of him know what he's going to do. With any luck: Davis Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw Cork Morgan Lallana Davis Rodriguez Lambert That would have a great chance of a well needed 3 points. Looking forward to getting up there.
adrian lord Posted 25 December, 2013 Posted 25 December, 2013 Davis may be average at best, but he's a lot calmer than Gazza and less prone to error. It's a weakness rather than a liability. Yes.
BlakeySFC Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Just some stats for you all: - Only won 4 times at Cardiff in our entire history - They've won their last 5 home games against us *gulp*
Dark Munster Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Davis may be average at best, but he's a lot calmer than Gazza and less prone to error. It's a weakness rather than a liability. That puts him miles ahead of Gazza. If Gazza plays I predict a loss. If Kelvin plays (and Jos O. G. Hoofveld doesn't) I predict a win
Leicestersaint Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Reckon Fox and Jos will start again. Then we're in trouble.
Nexstar Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Just some stats for you all: - Only won 4 times at Cardiff in our entire history - They've won their last 5 home games against us *gulp* Oh no, some completely irrelevant stats....aaaahhhhhh!
Matthew Le God Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Just some stats for you all: - Only won 4 times at Cardiff in our entire history - They've won their last 5 home games against us *gulp* How will that have any bearing on today's game?
whelk Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 From Luke Shaw on Sunday : Could of played today they just didn't want to risk it, as we have a busy Christmas schedule coming up! I will be fit for the game Thursday! Not sure why people concluding Fox will play
beatlesaint Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Matthew Le God;1839612]How will that have any bearing on today's game? Well obviously it doesn't but there is the old horses for courses saying. Man United always win at Villa for example, West Ham don't win at Anfield, Spurs went over 70 years not winnig there, we dont have a great record playing the Welsh teams away and so on. Hopefully we will put that right today....
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Even with our first choice defence of Shaw, Lovren, Fonte, Clyne we'll struggle with Gazza in goal. Never thought I'd say it in the Premier League but let's hope Davis is fit!
studentsaint Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Davis Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw Cork Morgan Davis Lallana J rod Ossie (if not then lambo)
Appy Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Even with our first choice defence of Shaw' date=' Lovren, Fonte, Clyne we'll struggle with Gazza in goal. Never thought I'd say it in the Premier League but let's hope Davis is fit![/quote'] Agreed, he will bring a great deal more calmness to our defence then Gazzaniga.
Window Cleaner Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Agreed, he will bring a great deal more calmness to our defence then Gazzaniga. And at least he's had a couple of first team games in the C1C. I don't think Gazza had played a real game for about a year when he replaced Artur at Chelsea, as you all know I don't count the U21s as real games..
torsaint Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Club said no tickets on sale on day. Can someone confirm this?
Badger Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Has the VMan spoken yet ? That will be the first 'indication' of the team.
Window Cleaner Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Is Osvaldo banned or not? not yet I think.
DuncanRG Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 (edited) I don't think Lambert will have a fruitful afternoon if he's alone up top against Caulker. He and Medel tend to keep those types very quiet - I'd be tempted to give Rodriguez a similar role to the second half at Newcastle. Edited 26 December, 2013 by DuncanRG
DuncanRG Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 No Lovren!? What the bloody 'eck's going on? Must be a virus going round.
Lighthouse Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Team sheets are in: Shaw is back but Lovren out. Oh s**t! Yoshida in
Edmonton Saint Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 so no lovren and gazzaclowna still in goal = defeat
Roger Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 What the hell is that team? Thought Clyne and Davis were back and lovren injured now. What are they doing in the training ground? So many injuries!
Bewildered Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Could be worse, at least Fox and Hooiveld aren't playing.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Lovren ill apparently. Maybe they need to get more powerful dust hoovers in those hotel rooms.
Bewildered Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Medel is out for Cardiff, big plus for us.
DuncanRG Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 They've corrected the teamsheet to include Kelvin on the bench ahead of Cropper. Cardiff: Marshall, Taylor, Caulker ©, Turner, Theophile-Catherine; Whittingham, Gunnarsson, Mutch, Noone; Odemwingie, Campbell Subs: Lewis; Hudson, Cornelius, Kim, Cowie, Maynard, John Didn't realise Medel's out, that's good news. Big money striker Cornelius back on the bench after injury
