Grey Crab Posted 23 December, 2013 Posted 23 December, 2013 Last week I successfully predicted that AVB would be sacked and Spurs would win under a caretaker manager. This week's prediction... Cardiff will be behind their manager but they are still Cardiff and we will turn them over emphatically. Expect 4 goals from the Saints.
sydneysaint17 Posted 23 December, 2013 Posted 23 December, 2013 Just saw Luke Shaw in West Quay - looked fine to me...
Window Cleaner Posted 23 December, 2013 Posted 23 December, 2013 Just saw Luke Shaw in West Quay - looked fine to me... looked down his throat did you, took his temperature...lad is obviously playing fast and loose, probably been disciplined for his shopping trip.
VectisSaint Posted 23 December, 2013 Posted 23 December, 2013 Just saw Luke Shaw in West Quay - looked fine to me... He looked fine at the ground pre-match yesterday as well. A few kids will probably have sore throats today as well after he posed with them for pics and signed autographs. He will be OK for Cardiff as long as he avoids Nandos.

A draw is for all intensive purposes akin to a defeat as far as I'm concerned. 3-1 Saints
teenagegsaint Posted 23 December, 2013 Posted 23 December, 2013 Jrod up front? no thanks, runs into a brick wall too often! goes missing half the time
Wiggles31 Posted 23 December, 2013 Posted 23 December, 2013 Please start Cropper for this! And no Jos! Please god no!
ratio_decidendi Posted 23 December, 2013 Posted 23 December, 2013 1-1. One decent goal away from home against a team energised by the continued tenure of Malky Mackay, and one poor defensive error from a Saint (most likely Gazzaniga). Not expecting fireworks with this one judging on our recent form and style of play. Cardiff are, understandably, not amazing but there's reasons why they're not in the bottom three (and it's not like we've struggled against teams around that area *ahem* West Ham and Sunderland).
sydneysaint17 Posted 23 December, 2013 Posted 23 December, 2013 Can't see any point in trying to predict a score when theres no clue what sort of side we will put out. With a full strength side I would like to think we'd win, however last weeks squad would be lucky to get a draw
BlakeySFC Posted 23 December, 2013 Posted 23 December, 2013 (edited) If Jos and/or Fox play we've already lost, it's as simple as that. Also Whittingham is gonna cause havok in the box with his crosses/corners. Edited 24 December, 2013 by BlakeySFC
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 We can probably carry Fox, and Gazza simply has to improve or we will be better off fielding a traffic cone. Hooiveld, however simply cannot be given a shirt.
egg Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 Please start Cropper for this! And no Jos! Please god no! I assume you haven't seen him play. Sadly Gazza is our best option at the moment. Agreed re Jos tho. Hopefully Fonte and Shaw start. If they do we should scrape a draw but i can't see us winning this.
Window Cleaner Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 did I see Artur without a protection on his hand in the Spurs matchday uncovered ?
Saint86 Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 Mate driving us up to this one, any ideas for parking and pubs from those who have been before. Very little info about this one on football ground guide. I'd personally park at bristol parkway and catch the train, quicker and easier but would have relied on you buying tickets for the train in advance to be cost effective.. good luck with roger bridge. Whether in Bristol is ****, amazed if bridge is open

DG Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 How close is Kelvin to being fit? Peach tweeted he could be available for this one.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 How close is Kelvin to being fit? Simon Peach said Kelvin, Clyne, Shaw and Osvaldo (ban permitting) could all be fit for Cardiff so he must be very close.
Saint Charlie Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 Kelvis Davin could be back. Hopefully Big Jos gets an opportunity to put things right and show his quality. Would be madness to drop the lad as he is a great servant.
Roger Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 Kelvis Davin could be back. Hopefully Big Jos gets an opportunity to put things right and show his quality. Would be madness to drop the lad as he is a great servant. Why would it be madness to drop him?

DT Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 Perm one of Gazza, Fox or Jos and we will lose. Think they'll be fired up to play for Mackay. And they have a fair few good players. Going 2-1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ladysaint Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 What are the chances of this being postponed due to the unsettled weather forecast for Boxing Day.
S-Clarke Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 What are the chances of this being postponed due to the unsettled weather forecast for Boxing Day. There's no unsettled weather forecast? Boxing day will be the best day of the lot, bright and sunny but cold. On friday/into the W/E it could be interesting, but I wouldn't expect any games to be called off.
DT Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 With our injuries would be good if it were postponed. Gazza would still let one in though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Baird of the land Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 While part of me thinks Cropper can't be worse than Gash anniga the cynical part of me thinks he could be even worse. Davis/Boruc back as a christmas present would be nice. Shaw and Fonte back in is a must of course too.
Saint Charlie Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 Barry, Barkley and bizarrely Tim Howard are all on 4 bookings for Everton. They are home to Sunderland, would be good if Barkley gets a yellow. For us it's Morgan, Fonte and Wanyama who are one away from a ban.
Lets B Avenue Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 Marriner the ref for this one. we've also got Twa ttenberg at Everton, so get your money on us giving away another spurious penalty.

It would be faily good if all of Everton's 4 carders got a yellow and neither of ours did, can't see Morgan and José making the Chelsea game without a suspension though. Too many games before the amnesty this year surely.

Window Cleaner Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 Only two games to get through. it affects the way they play though, yellow cards are an occupational hazard for DMs and CBs and not having enough cover just in case(which shouldn't be the case with our squad but injuries have decided otherwise) just dampens their effectiveness.
Window Cleaner Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 Strangely strange, if you look at the video that goes with Mauricio's pre match interview Davis and Boruc are both to be seen training in goal with their gloves on. Think that could mean that the 3 wise men have turned up at Staplewood bearing miracle remedies ?
Leicestersaint Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 If Gazzaniga, Fox and Hooifeld start then I think we will be in serious trouble. We have taken 2 points from the last 18 and we really do start winning again.

We have taken 2 points from the last 18 and we really do start winning again. José and Luke both seemed to be at training, can't see Maya or Dani though. Seems we've acquired a number 43 as well, who would that be then?
Saint Charlie Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 Looks like Boruc will be back for Chelsea at least given he is back training.
Window Cleaner Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 Looks like Boruc will be back for Chelsea at least given he is back training. can't see he'd be stopping shots with his hands if one was still suspect really. We can only be hopeful on that.
Window Cleaner Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 (edited) Is Boruc's break on his throwing arm? it's his hand and he'd need that in every circumstance because let's face it the less he kicks out the better it is. Last time we saw him in the training gallery he had a neoprene strap on his broken hand, then he appeared in the Uncovered last Sunday without it. Now he's to be seen in goal with his gloves on. What all that means I couldn't say but he's going forward obviously. José also appears in the training video today, something which he didn't last week so that may be a good sign as well. KD looks spritely bouncing about in goal, another good sign. Only downers, no Maya or Dani. Edited 24 December, 2013 by Window Cleaner
VectisSaint Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 Seems we've acquired a number 43 as well, who would that be then? Will Britt. Haven't seen the pictures so am guessing, but he is #43 according to some sources.

VectisSaint Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 got gloves on, so Will Britt it is then. So maybe he is backup keeper to Cropper for tomorrow :-) Where are you seeing the training video? I was looking for it on the OS/Saints Player but can't find a link.

I was looking for it on the OS/Saints Player but can't find a link. you have to look at one of the items with Mauricio on it, the one where he isn't sitting with his interpreter. It's just a video of him speaking in the gym with a few action shots of the players training outside.
Ohio Saint Posted 24 December, 2013 Posted 24 December, 2013 I hadn't realised that MP and Gazza share the same home town of Murphy. I hope that is not a selection influence!!!!
