Batman Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Terrible keeper Will never make it at the top flight in England
Window Cleaner Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Terrible keeper Will never make it at the top flight in England totally responsible for our defeat today, Cropper or the GK coach on Thursday please.
Edmonton Saint Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Agreed. I said after the Villa game he was a liability who never seems to make any saves. Nothing he has done since has changed my mind. Pathetic really that all our good work earlier this season is being undone by a complete lack of forward planning. It didn't take a mind reader to say we needed backup in this area.
Saint_Donovan Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 I've tried to defend him, but there's no defence for that
Dr. Kucho Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Dont want to jump on the badwagon, but he truly is shocking. I dont know if I would risk playing Cropper, but he surely cant be worse then Gazzaniga. Time to invest in a goalkeeper who can challenge Boruc and move KD at the end of the season to a coaching role.
badgerx16 Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 It didn't take a mind reader to say we needed backup in this area. But the backup is KD. Has anybody done the research on the quality of third choice keepers elsewhere in the Prem ?
Sheaf Saint Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 totally responsible for our defeat today, Cropper or the GK coach on Thursday please. Nothing whatsoever to do with the absolute f***ing shambles of a defence in front of him then?
James Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Terrible keeper Will never make it at the top flight in England He is the worst keeper we've had since I've been supporting Saints. He can't catch, he can't even block, has weak wrists, awful positioning and never makes a save. I would honestly rather we still had Bart and he was dreadful. Not even a League Two keeper. Is Gazzaniga Argentinian for Forecast?
brightspark Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 He's really lacking at the moment. Bialkowski was better at the same age. Definitely need a new keeper.
Dalek2003 Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Nothing whatsoever to do with the absolute f***ing shambles of a defence in front of him then? Yes, but a poison cocktail of poor defence and young nervy goalkeeper. We are in trouble now.
CWD Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Gives absolutely no confidence to the back 4. He will improve but he should be nowhere near PL football at this moment in time.
Stepgar Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 I believe he should have had the first. Cathing practice. And he just stays on his line. His decision making/ starting position seems poor.
Window Cleaner Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Nothing whatsoever to do with the absolute f***ing shambles of a defence in front of him then? He makes them nervous, they don't trust him and it makes them do silly things. Look at their second goal, Gazzaniga is about a week late in going down for it because it really is a simple save for a real keeper, it hits Jos and goes in. F*cker should never have got as far as Jos. First goal Boruc would have come out and claimed and the third goal is just a comedy attempt at a stop by Gazzaniga. Our defence just cannot compensate for this clown.
Trader Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Was he really to blame for any of those goals? Left one on one for all of them - and Hoovield was the one for the second. Seems to be the easy scapegoat on this site - and he doesn't deserve it, terrible defensive ****ups today - if Fonte is on the bench then he should start.
OldNick Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 wheres that thread a few weeks back and many were sayi9ng that Gazza was a good keeper lol
John B Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 He may well be a poor GK but surely quesstions should be asked why the club invested a large fee for him

Window Cleaner Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 He may well be a poor GK but surely quesstions should be asked why the club invested a large fee for him because we had a poor judge of goalkeepers in charge at that time? You know the bloke who thought KD was a PL keeper.
Dig Dig Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Stood on the line all game. Shocking. Should have claimed the OG but what was Jos doing? Does he ever ****ing learn
Stepgar Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Stood on the line all game. Shocking. Should have claimed the OG but what was Jos doing? Does he ever ****ing learn thats what i mean. He was hugging his line when he should have been placed on the just inside the 6yrd box.
OldNick Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 because we had a poor judge of goalkeepers in charge at that time? You know the bloke who thought KD was a PL keeper.well he would have done better than Gazza or are you saying Gazza is better?
Wiggles31 Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 He is woeful. Awful keeper. Get rid asap. Is there anything positive about him? Can't catch, communicate, come off his line, kick or make any saves. Worst keeper we've had. Don't get me started on Jos!
Window Cleaner Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 well he would have done better than Gazza or are you saying Gazza is better? no KD would have done better but as he seems to have a long term injury it's not really relevant. Gazza was signed by a poor judge of GKs.
Window Cleaner Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 He is woeful. Awful keeper. Get rid asap. Is there anything positive about him? Can't catch, communicate, come off his line, kick or make any saves. Worst keeper we've had. Don't get me started on Jos! We just have to try Cropper at Cardiff, can't be any worse really. If he's got one brain cell he'll read the game better than Gazzaniga.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 because we had a poor judge of goalkeepers in charge at that time? You know the bloke who thought KD was a PL keeper. Same on that signed Boruc?
Solid Saint Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Terrible keeper Will never make it at the top flight anywhere Fixed for more accuracy.
Window Cleaner Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Same on that signed Boruc? the same that had Boruc forced upon him contrary to his will.
Trader Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 because we had a poor judge of goalkeepers in charge at that time? You know the bloke who thought KD was a PL keeper. That "poor judge of goalkeepers" just happened to be an ex-professional goalkeeper. Look, I just don't like the appalling witch hunt of Gazzaniga on this site, he's 21 and learning. Hoovield was dreadful again today including an own goal - he's the one people should be having a go at.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 the same that had Boruc forced upon him contrary to his will.

Let him learn elsewhere, he is a disgustingly poor keeper who's sent our season into a tail-spin singledhandedly.
John B Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Lets face it it is not Gazza's fault he is here it is someone at SFC
Cabrone Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 In just over 4 games he has conceeded 2 more goals than Boruc did in almost 13 games. He is not good enough, even if some of those goals were hard to save he gives the defence no confidence and consequently they make mistakes. Time to give Cropper a go until Boruc is back or we get a better keeper.
Trader Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Let him learn elsewhere, he is a disgustingly poor keeper who's sent our season into a tail-spin singledhandedly. Pity your mate Boruc started that tailspin by his comedy performance at Arsenal. Or was that Gazza's fault as well?
Solid Saint Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Let him learn elsewhere, he is a disgustingly poor keeper who's sent our season into a tail-spin singledhandedly. Agreed, hes been a major contributing factor. Poor sod, whoever told him he could keep deserves a smack tbh.
Suffolk Saint Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 With the Keystone Kops of Jos, Gazza and Fox did anyone really expect anything other than this outcome?
Saint Garrett Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Wanted to give him some time as he wasn't so bad last season and was hoping that he'd have improved. He hasnt. He's utter sh1te. I don't think he would be so bad if we had had our first choice defense, but still....nowhere near good enough!!
Window Cleaner Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 With the Keystone Kops of Jos, Gazza and Fox did anyone really expect anything other than this outcome? not really but when we score first you get all euphoric like. Fonte obviously has some sort of ongoing problem and Yoshida as I said before is probably on his way out very soon. Perhaps the medical staff are having too much say in team selection.
Hedgehog Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Gives absolutely no confidence to the back 4. He will improve but he should be nowhere near PL football at this moment in time. Or perhaps the back 4 gives him no confidence?
bpsaint Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Was he really to blame for any of those goals?. Yes, the way he remained rooted to his line for the first was embarrassing, just like one of the goals we conceded against Villa. A keeper should at the very least attempt to claim any cross into the 6 yard box.
DuncanRG Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Awful today, but ho-hum. Nothing we can do about it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Window Cleaner Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Awful today, but ho-hum. Nothing we can do about it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk we can try Cropper can't be any worse. If he comes off his line and catches one cross in a game he'll have done better. Expect Gazza to get the chop at Cardiff. We just cannot support his lack of reactivity any more.
kpturner Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 totally responsible for our defeat today.A truly laughable assessment - well done!
badgerx16 Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 What are you all going to say on Thursday when he's picked again ?
Window Cleaner Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 What are you all going to say on Thursday when he's picked again ? Same as I did today in the build up thread, to be feared more than anything the opposition might possess.
S-Clarke Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Pretty horrific player, to be honest. I think MP will shortly be reassessing January plans. We cannot go on with him as backup. You cannot have a weakness like him in the championship, let alone the premier league.
david in sweden Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Haven't changed my opinion since seeing him last Autumn. He's one year older, but it doesn't seem that he's learned much. In one respect, he's similar to Butland ......in that half-a-season in an L2 side isn't good preparation for facing up against Prem. class strikers. I can't tell the difference between watching him in slow-motion.... and at ordinary speed.
david in sweden Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 What are you all going to say on Thursday when he's picked again ? .say?.....words fail me!
Saint Charlie Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 Woeful. The root cause of our form IMO.
M271 Posted 22 December, 2013 Posted 22 December, 2013 It's been 3 weeks since Boruc injury, did they say at the time it was a 5 to 6 weeks recovery time. Anyone heard/seen any update?
