This is true. I said ages ago the players get treated like royalty and get whatever they want. One of the biggest issues Pardew had was that Cortese was forming close relationships with senior players which Pardew objected to and was one of the reasons why their relationship started to become strained.

 

Yep pretty much agree with that and forming a good relationship with the players is a clear positive. What I objected to was the suggestion that Cortese was the single most important factor for luke Shaw. That's a nonsense.

Very shocked to read that they don't spend any more than a few minutes on the opposition. You've got to have an incredible amount of belief in the way you play to almost completely ignore any element of how the opposition play or the things they do. It might also explain the amount of times Pochettino is frantically giving players instructions in the first 20mins of the game.

 

It might also explain the half-time changes.

Dunno bout that, seems like they spend their time working on a team shape that is presumably designed to combat the opposition, they just don't spend ages sitting around going watch Rooney, he's good player. And Carrick he is good passing. And Van Persie is got good left foot.
