Lambert to West Ham Rumour

ART

Recommended Posts

Wasn't there some rumour suggesting Rickie's agent was trying to get him a better deal recently? Leak a story to the press that a numpty club are willing to pay extortionate wages, club respond in trying to keep their asset by offering a better deal (but not at that level) and a player who doesn't really want to leave ends up with a better deal. Simple. Except for the Don...

Shaw rumour i think is wrong, 8 million plus Ryan Bertrand, sorry Bertrand is a good LB but i would value him at 6-7 mill, i would expect the Don to get a player and money worth in total of 20 million.

Lambert, well he needs to play and be up top being the goal scorer hes got 5 assists this season and 6 goals, he wants more goals and needs to score 10 prem goals to have a chance of going to Brazil, with Osvaldo missing and winnable games vs WBA at home and Sunderland away and fully fit side with Lambo up top should mean he gets a goal or two and we get at least 4 points.

We are happy to let him go but have to find an adequate replacement first, also Shaw deal is looking more and more on, what will Cortese make of that?

Who are you speaking for exactly? with this "we"

The deal is looking "more and more on"..how? because the papers/sky/media say so...oh right:rolleyes:

So you can only comment once things have happened? The forum would be shut down as a pure reactionary site, think about it for a moment, or are you only allowed to speculate supposed positive things on here? £8 Million for him is good if we can find a replacement.

Speculation is great but speaking for others is that what a forum should be...?

Why would Lambert be "desperate" to leave. Just for the money? Benched for the big games this season? Lack of chances created/having to drop deep all the time?

It says a double in wages, not a first teamer here, coming to the end of his career and he can end it on £70,000 a week two year deal, of course he would take it as its an extra £350,000 approx over that time.

I find it very hard to believe that Lambert wants to go and play for West Ham.

Probably more likely that he wants to earn the ridiculous salary on offer than play for West Ham as such.

But now that they've signed a typical 6'8" Allardyce striker will they still go for RL ? perhaps They will given Fat Sam's style of stockpiling players.

We'd be mad to consider letting RL go despite his age etc. Just look at how less fluid our play was yesterday after he went off.

Id put my mortgage on rick not leaving saints for west ham! The bloke loves saints to bits, when ever he gets interviewed when playing for England he can't thank saints enough! The bloke will retire as a saints legend. People who believe this desperate paper talk need to read a proper paper.

Ok if West Ham offered to double his wages I strongly believe he would take it, this is based upon my own experience and the fact his career is ending, its a good gamble to assume that but carry on being contrary, you can presume what was said between Clattenburg and Lallana and yet when the shoe is on the other foot with a fair % of whats going on you refute it, again look at the picture above.

The Sun is not a newspaper, it fabricates stories.

Why would Lambo throw away a great season at St Marys, hopefully in the league and cup, to enter a relegation fight with a club that plays no football ?

Because they're so desperate they might be prepared to double his wages? If true, nobody should begrudge him the move

Oh the Cup now, are we going to use that as a reason? We obviously could not give a ****e about the other one, Lambert would double his wages, he does not have long left as a playing career, would you refuse it? He is not the 1st choice or would not be if Osvaldo was so poor, the club does not want him as a 1st teamer so why not?

Based on what, have you spoke with him? do you speak with his agent....?

I presume nothing about what was said re Lallana and Clattenburg..

No idea what you mean re the shoe on other foot bit??

From the ssn transfer blog

The Sun on Sunday says that Rickie Lambert is desperate for an £8million move to West Ham. Lambert would reportedly double his £35,000-a-week wages at Upton Park, but Southampton will not let him go without a replacement.

Just LOL at desperate for the move

Dani Osvaldo was bought as competition I presume (can I resume that?) and the formations we play means there is only room for one, also Lambert was not playing or was a frequent starter for many games this year, also the fact he is now 31, just a hunch.................................

Strikers rotated depending on who we are playing does not mean he is not 1st choice,J-Rod up top against Chelsea was surely because Terry and Cahill are slow and Jays pace could burn the pair if he had the opportunity? Different strikers for different teams it is a purely tactical choice and nothing to do with him not being 1st choice

So you are happy with Osvaldo and Lambert as our strikers to help us push for Europe?

Do you really believe that some journo woke up this morning and thought" I know I'll make something up about Southampton" . If he wanted to make something up, then surely it would be Rooney to someone or Man Utd interested in x, y, or z.

I have a mate who works for the gutter press and they really do not make this sort of thing up. This would have come from someone. They sometimes print things they don't really believe, but they'll have a source. In this case my money would be on Lambert's agent, trying to pressure saints. But it would have come from, interested club, selling club, player, agent or teammate. A journo did not just pluck this out of thin air to fill column inches.

A highly probable one, if you dont know go with the most probable, surely you have been taught that?

Go with your own opinion but use some facts to help you judge...and there are no facts/proof/interviews/videos etc to support

the view that Lambert wants to go let alone desperate...

If you solely deal in balck and white on a football forum you are going to be frustrated, I suggest a God forum or something like that, football the game I love is about opinions and in some part conjecture.

I think the biggest give away on Lambert was yesterdays game. He looked really disinterested and without energy to his performance. His goal lightened an otherwise grey performance IMO.

You could say that about most of our team yesterday; it was lightweight from a lot of them, doing as little as they could get away with........not just Lambert.

dead legs hurt a bit you know, what did he look like in the 10 minutes of the game before he got that ? Might be hard to tell because I think Burnley were roughing us up a bit for those minutes.

Personally I'm not fussed, if he goes he goes, if he stays he stays but as of yet there's only paper speculation about him leaving and the bloke himself saying only a couple of weeks back just how attached to Southampton he's become.

Not too sure about that. A recently deceased Sunday paper would regularly make snippet rumours up. I know because I used to sit in a London pub doing it with him and bingo, there it is word for word on the Sunday

Lol..God Forum, what is that..

Conjecture is one thing but to use it to make it out to be true, makes you easily led...

I use facts, those things that are real to make my mind up not just accept that because someone says it or prints it it must be true

Rubbish. He got injured early in game. He's not going to go. He leads the line well.

perhaps most of them were a bit surprised to be playing after what the manager had been saying beforehand. Rotation blah blah blah, opportunities for young players blah, blah but in the end all we changed was the 2 CBs and JRod and Lallana got a few minutes off.

Lambert may lack the pace to stretch a defence, but he gives us real shape and intelligence. Thought j rod up top in both Burnley and particularly Chelsea showed what we miss when Lambert isn't about.

If Lambert goes it would leave us with osvaldo for me as the only front line striker. Just can't see that happening before we bring in a replacement who has established themselves
