Huffton Posted 15 December, 2013 Share Posted 15 December, 2013 Well done to the morons that were singing that yesterday, the bloke that signed SRL and started our journey back to the top and got us a day at Wembley. austsaint Posted 15 December, 2013 Share Posted 15 December, 2013 AP is no w@nker = If you listen to his post-match interview he is very fair and complimentary to us - greeted MP and Adam pre-game as well. He deserves our respect for his contribution to the SFC, as of course does Nigel.

Saint_clark Posted 15 December, 2013 Share Posted 15 December, 2013 Dare I suggest those singing were not around in the Division One days ? Exactly this. Did you say anything to them at the time? I rather think not. But they would have look like right knobs if you'd made the same points in the ground. Kind of like a Monty Python sketch - "What has Pardew ever done for us?". "Signed Rickie Lambert, Jose Fonte, won the JPT, gave us a winning mentality, helped Lallana discover his goalscoring touch, introduced Chamberlain..." sammysaint Posted 15 December, 2013 Share Posted 15 December, 2013 I thank pards for allowing me and my dad to see history and see Saints win a trophy at Wembley all be it the JPT, but that sent us on our way, and for signing the greatest CF we have had for a long time goals assts and all round play he saw this in RL and helped him lose weight and get fitter to be this player. Smirking_Saint Posted 15 December, 2013 Share Posted 15 December, 2013 It was not on but Im assuming you lot are unaware of the overall reasons that the man was relieved of his duties ? And no it wasnt anything to do with anyones missus. He did very well for usand certainly is a decent manager, signed some good players etc but overall is a self important tit. That said moronic chanting probably isnt on no.
chocco boxo Posted 15 December, 2013 Share Posted 15 December, 2013 Another one like Nigel who have helped us progress, never met him but some who have seem to think he loves himself! Alain Perrin Posted 15 December, 2013 Share Posted 15 December, 2013 What were the real reasons for his departure? I heard he was actively seeking a move away and got rumbled. Is that true? He is a good manager but comes across as an arrogant ******. If you saw him last year when Newcastle were struggling he didn't front up for his players which is a bit of a sign in my opinion. Can I be thankful for what he did for us but still think he's a ******? I'd take Nigel and MP instead any day. SuperMikey Posted 15 December, 2013 Share Posted 15 December, 2013 I thank Pardew for what he achieved with us, and the foundations he created at this club, but you do have to admit he's a bit of a dour pr!ck. I remember at the JPT final he barely cracked a smile. I never really warmed to him in the same way that I did with NA and have now done with MP, don't think he enjoyed himself with us too much. Got to respect the signings he made though.

shurlock Posted 15 December, 2013 Share Posted 15 December, 2013 A rather disingenuous post by the OP, followed up by pompous posts from people who obviously weren't there. The chant was sung only in response to the touchline brawl/scuffle - there was not a peep until then. People naturally assumed that AP had started it -reasonable enough given his history of similar incidents (provocative celebrations, shoving assistant refs etc). A heat of the moment thing defending our own, not some deliberate verdict on his contribution to the club. Nothing more.

Lallana's Left Peg Posted 15 December, 2013 Share Posted 15 December, 2013 It was a chant that happened after the bench incident happened, it wasn't one that was pre-meditated or sung through boredom. Of course no-one had an idea what caused the brawl or which team is at fault, but Pardew over history isn't known for placid behaviour on the sideline and John Carver (his Assistant) is a gobby ***** who also enjoys confrontation. Bourno Posted 15 December, 2013 Share Posted 15 December, 2013 2 teens were singing it behind me - I turned round to them and say why are you calling him that? Dunno - was their response. The man did a good job for us and under him we won the JPT. Shouldn't have been sacked at the time on results (we don't know exactly what went on behind the scenes - and yes we are better off now)
Gemmel Posted 15 December, 2013 Share Posted 15 December, 2013 Well for the all the football genius on here trying to explain why or how the chant came about you are all wrong. Oh an big laugh at manji for believing the indiscretion nonsense (The clue might be in the big pay off....if you were ever stupid enough to believe it in the first place) The ball went out of play, we had men over and pardew kicked the ball the other way stopping us from taking a quick throw in and taking advantage. I thought and think highly of pardew, but for that the chant was justified.
Huffton Posted 15 December, 2013 Author Share Posted 15 December, 2013 Agreed. Thick as f**k is much of our travelling support. I think the chief of the village was just behind us. Over the course of the 90 mins he called everyone on the pitch, and most of the benches, a c**t. Literally everyone. It was clearly the only insult he knows, apart from when he was really angry, then they were a f***ing c**t. Inspired.

CB Fry Posted 15 December, 2013 Share Posted 15 December, 2013 That sounds like complete fabrication SS This. Cortese wanted him out, he got him out. Sacked in August. Turkish Posted 15 December, 2013 Share Posted 15 December, 2013 That sounds like complete fabrication SS The rumours started that Cortese wanted Pardew out well before his first season finished. I remember when the rumours were in the press the crowd really backed Pardew, chanting his name throughout the game. Cortese wanted him out and got him out, Pardew has an ego, he wasn't a yes man and wouldn't settle for being a department head as Cortese recently described the managers job, I also understand that when Pardew first arrived he had control over transfers. When Reed arrived in the April of that season this was taken away from him and along with the increasingly poor relationship with Cortese it was when and not if he was going to be sacked.
