Don't cry for me... Pochettino

How can we forget the furore surrounding Mauricio Pochettino's arrival (not to mention Adkins' dismissal) ..and those amazed responses of ..who :?

We learned of MP's reputation (somewhat tainted by Espanyols' relegation - oh well, it can happen to the best) and then his friendship and admiration for Jose Mourinho (no less).:D

Since when many of us seem to have happily embraced the Pochettino effect, (and the players double-training). So imagine the surprise...to hear that Mourinho has " recommended " MP as the next manager at ....Real Madrid.:uhoh: At least... there...MP would be prepared to answer his own questions from the media.

Surely a cue for Nicola Cortese to give him a 5 year contract?. (However contracts, as we have sometimes seen ....aren't worth the paper they're printed on )

It is, at any rate, a feather in MP's cap......or could it just be ....a back- handed way for Mourinho to get rid of one of his most-dangerous rivals :suspicious:

Don't remind me of the Adkins fiasco it is a stain on our club that will fade but never be erased.

As for the rest of your post it is pure speculation but we are a small club having a great season so of course our best players and manager will be linked with other clubs it will be a measure of our ambition how we respond should such speculation transform into offers.

Your thread title could make a decent song if there are any lyrical geniuses in the house!

Don't cry for me Argentina

The truth is I never left you

All through my wild days

My mad existence

I kept my promise

Don't keep your distance

There is a genuinely decent chant for MP somewhere in that song.

Unfortunately we won't get to hear it until Pochettino becomes manager of Man City. And then three years after that the Northam adapt it to a quicker sh ittier song about whoever our manager is then and Portsmouth.

Brilliant! That did actually make me laugh.

Don't cry for me Tony Pulis,

The truth is you managed pompey

All through your dark days

Now you're with us

We support you

Not the pompey scum

The truth is cortese stabbed you,

All through your good days,

At Spurs away last season I got battered and spent the entire train journey from WHL to Seven Sisters singing:

Don't Cry for me Pochetino

The truth is you'll never leave us

Even on bad days

We play great football

You kept your promise...

And took us to Europe

Repeat...

OK, he hasn't got us to Europe yet and everyone else on the carriage thought I was a wrongun. **** 'em, up the Saints!
