Badger Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Just realised we play them on Jan 11. Just time for the new manager effect to be in full flow. perhaps they'll appoint Burley...
Monk Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Never sack your manager unless there's a better manager available & willing to come. Controversial and I don't like the bloke but I think Steve Mclaren would if been an interesting appointment. As for RDM, public knowledge his success at Chelsea was down to his 'clever' man management of the senior players. Common knowledge that Terry, Lamps and Drogba heavily influenced RDM. Not sure if I see that as RDM being clever or anticipating he would have no authority if he led with his usual approach. Still think WBA have been hasty.

CB Fry Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 He's at Derby isn't he? He's on fire. The perfect appointment. Right man, right club at the right time, looking very good to take them up, and start to rebuild his reputation. Hope he won't do an Appleton and jump ship to WBA.

Now there is an interesting name to come out of all this. Was highly thought of at WBA before he set off for the skates. They wouldn't be so daft would they ?

Badger Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 I think he became damaged goods when he flitted from Skatesmouth to Blackpool? then Blackburn in about 3 weeks Probably. In truth his reputation was intact at skates as everyone knew he had no prospect of any success there so it was just a matter of being dignified in defeat. What followed was a fiasco. I doubt he'd feature high on the WBA wishlist to begin with, but as one or two of those give it a wide berth, they may come down to making a 'Wigley' type appointment, and 'Appy' may them feature.
Lets B Avenue Posted 16 December, 2013 Posted 16 December, 2013 I hope they give the job to McLeish. He deserves the chance to be hated by all of the Brum postcode area.
