Saints vs Spurs - Build Up

Don't know about this season, it hasn't been open much. Last season the KA had to screen off the back yard and ran a strict 'door policy' (show your tkt, home fans only) for certain games as and when directed by the police - Spurs was one of the games that was home fans only.

If he doesn't have a home tkt prob best avoid the KA?

Only been into the KA once this season and don't walk past it on my way to the ground anymore so not sure if it's open - imagine it will be for Spurs though. Packed house at SMS on the last weekend before Xmas...they'll turn a nice profit.

As for whether he'd get in, he can always nip up to the bus stop and hop over the railing if they stop him at the door. Or come drink round the corner at the Kingsland.

The Platform Tavern down at Town Quay usually has a fair number of away fans. It's a real ale pub and often has live music - not a typical pub but good food and different beers.

I'd second that, and I've seen plenty of away fans in there: doesn't even raise an eyebrow amongst the (generally) older demographic of old codgers.;-)

Various pubs in the Bedford place area and at St.Denys (The Junction etc.) with a walk along the river to follow.

Not sure why we would play Osvaldo; anonymous at Newcastle and has yet to integrate into our playing style.

I would go with the same team in the latter part at Newcastle with Lambert, Davis and lallana behind JRod as his pace will terrify Spurs CBs

I'm not too fussed whether Osvaldo or Lambert plays, but like others, I'd like to see him start and try to adapt to our style of play and the Premier League. Also, theres a reason why I said bring Lambert on if Osvaldo isn't playing well.

Paul Merson and Jamie Redknapp are predicting us to win 2-1 :-P Redknapp even thinks Osvaldo will score first! Weird how AVB getting sacked has changed the whole perception of this game. I'd rather be the underdog :-P

If that is meant to say The Angel, I would strongly suggest you don't take an away supporter there. Just stick to Weatherspoons, can't go wrong.

Classic auto correct, last time I went in there was a fair few hull fans, probably wouldn't be all that much bother unless it's one loud mouth spurs fan

2 clubs in turmoil in a row, could work in our favour, could be the opposite. Will it be a reaction for Sherwood this time? If he loses then any hope of the job has gone. I think it'll be a draw. With our first team I think we'd have won, but we're too weak at the back right now. If Mackay goes before the boxing day game, I think we can go there and win. 4 points from the 2 would be great anyway.

It depends. I'd rather play Cardiff under Mackay or a caretaker than a new permanent manager, who normally gives the team a boot up the arse in the first couple of games.

Guess which twit went to the match today? No prizes, got effing soaked as well. Place was absolutely deserted but then it was Spurs so no clues there. Thought I'd share this story to give you all a laugh on a sodden miserable day

2 days early, Arsenal playing Monday aren't they? :-)

Couldnt see Osvaldo in the OS training gallery.

Main thing is I hope Fonte is fit to start.

Can't see Osvaldo either - and unless someone can correct me I can't EVER remember seeing a high profile player absent from the training gallery and then be in the starting eleven. No Osvaldo tomorrow (nap).

Is four or more points from our next two games unlikely? I can actually see us beating both Spurs and Cardiff but at the same time our form hasn't been great of late and we still have the injury problems.

A win tomorrow would be huge, not because we'd go above Spurs (though that would be some achievement) but because it would keep us within touching distance of the top 6. Draw or lose and we could enter a mid-table fracas between us, Swansea and (surprisingly) Stoke. SNSUN Predictions: I think a draw is most likely; Conditions won't favour good football so it'll probably be scrappy game. Gazzaniga will be man of the match (because most of the shots he'd normally miss will be blown into his hands by the wind) and Pochettino will do his first post-match interview in English, because his interpreter has fallen ill.

November 2005 is the only one I can remember against Palace.

Don't I just know it. I was a student earning minimum wage in a Little Chef at the time. Was one of about 4 games I could afford to go to each season and I spent £40 on a return train ticket to Southampton, only for it to get called off. :(

I cant make this game so think a 1-0 to Saints with us battling most of the game and keeping a high line. Saints will still be underdogs for this game as Spurs have loads of players that can be good on the day just depends on who they play and if they turn up.

Otherwise will be happy with game called off!!!

Am I the only person who thinks Adebayor is the striker that would cause the most problems for us?

I would hope our high line would negate him as on his day he can be very good, but he is also a bit of a lazy bugger when getting back into position.

I would just like to see us give someone a real spanking in return for all the hard work we do, and unless Sherwood has waved a magic wand over Spurs the one thing they didn't seem to like v Liverpool last week was being harried and pushed back, but then with a 13:30 kickoff it might be a bit of strange game being at a strange time.
