JoeShmoe Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Why is he an idiot. For sanctioning the spending they did this summer, and his record appointing managers is woeful Rumours alight now that he's been sacked
Turkish Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 (edited) For sanctioning the spending they did this summer, and his record appointing managers is woeful Rumours alight now that he's been sacked Redknapp did well for them. Jol took them to fifth. AVB for some reason has a huge reputation but has now failed at Chelsea and Spurs. You can't blame levy! he's backed his man to the tune of £100m. His manger hasn't lived up to his billing. Edited 15 December, 2013 by Turkish
Tomobz Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 This is a big game for our top 6 challenge, we really need to get back onto the winning train asap. Can't see past a home win but it will be close. Saints to win 2-1. I find it impossible to drop Davis after his recent performances so my team would be Gazza, Chambers, Fonte, Lovren, Shaw, Morgan, Cork, Davis, Lallana, Jay Rod, Osvaldo. Up the saints!

That some reason would probably be winning the league\cup & European cup in 1 season with Porto, he had a 85% win record with them... incredible. He had a 47% win ratio with Chelsea and has a 55% win ratio with Spurs, he has the potential to be a top top coach.

Turkish Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Although their net spend this season is less that £5m Quite. Which is all credit to Levy for not going mad and spending money they don't have. Not really quite sure why people are having a go at him for sanctioning the spending. They didn't go mad and he back his manager. I don't really see what more people want from a chairman.
Badger Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Spiritual home. Need a miracle to stay up. 'Arry it is then just in time for a return to SMS What's Glenn up to these days ?

Seldom though do ambitious chief execs, or chairman allow a manager or coach the time to fulfil that potential though do they ?

Badger Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 That would suggest there's a replacement waiting in the wings? Someone who knows the club probably. Jol/Hoddle & George Graham all immediately available.

Turkish Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Someone who knows the club probably. Jol/Hoddle & George Graham all immediately available. As are Gerry Francis and David Pleat. My choices if I was a spurs fan.

Badger Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 As are Gerry Francis and David Pleat. My choices if I was a spurs fan. There's a man who might claim to have unfinished business around the streets of North London. Or perhaps Avram Grunt, probably a perfect fit for spurs.

Which would mean NC is not to blame for some signings we've made that haven't worked out.
Badger Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Christ. spurs have some vile thick c^nts following them don't they ? http://metro.co.uk/2013/12/15/spurs-fans-abuse-new-york-woman-ashley-van-buren-instead-of-andre-villas-boas-after-liverpool-defeat-4231867/

adrian lord Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Can't decide whether this is gonna be a good time or a bad time to play Spurs!
Ohio Saint Posted 16 December, 2013 Posted 16 December, 2013 Can't decide whether this is gonna be a good time or a bad time to play Spurs! I'm all strangley kinda "meh" about the season at the moment. The injuries have put us in our place regarding depth of squad, we now have to concentrate on clawing our way back. Right now it's a game to game sort of feeling and waiting to get a stronger team out. It's great seeing our youngsters come up and seize the day, but it's still a bit of a lull for me in a way that seems unfair to the valiant efforts of the team. What the hell. Let's stick it up 'em! They don't like it up 'em!
fanimal Posted 16 December, 2013 Posted 16 December, 2013 A few more injuries and a sending off v West Ham would not go amiss on Wednesday, good if they turn up battered and bruised on Sunday, please fat Sam. All I want for Xmas is 6 points, COYRS!!!
Bucks Saint Posted 16 December, 2013 Posted 16 December, 2013 Can't decide whether this is gonna be a good time or a bad time to play Spurs! Good I hope. Get a goal early on and watch their doubts rush in
DuncanRG Posted 16 December, 2013 Posted 16 December, 2013 Their away form is better than at home - WWLDW and LDLWL respectively and that away draw was at Goodison.
badgerx16 Posted 16 December, 2013 Posted 16 December, 2013 Their away form is better than at home - WWLDW and LDLWL respectively and that away draw was at Goodison. Their 5 away wins have been Sunderland, Fulham, Villa, Cardiff, and Palace. The only other 'big' team they've played away so far has been the Arse, which they lost. I think that at present the two teams are pretty much on a par and we should make home advantage count.

trousers Posted 16 December, 2013 Posted 16 December, 2013 Cue improved performance at the weekend. Damnation
London Saint Posted 16 December, 2013 Posted 16 December, 2013 AVB gone official Not sure if that is good or bad news for us!!!
Bucks Saint Posted 16 December, 2013 Posted 16 December, 2013 zip, sacked crazy decision, shouldn't have sold Bale should they if they wanted success. Very hard to hold onto a player who wants out and is refusing to train, while someone is waving £80m at you Agree its a crazy decision to fire AVB though
Bucks Saint Posted 16 December, 2013 Posted 16 December, 2013 Not sure if that is good or bad news for us!!! too many new players, all of whom have not played in EPL before, so not sure there will be much change in their performance
Window Cleaner Posted 16 December, 2013 Posted 16 December, 2013 (edited) Cue improved performance at the weekend. Damnation don't see why, they still have the same problem areas at the back, they've definitely lost Paulinho and no doubt Sandro so barring some miracle from Lamela I can't see much room for improvement in the short term. They were playing well but not scoring enough, bit like us really. Playing Capoue at CB is a stupid thing to do though, he's not that great in CM but a CB he's a disaster waiting to happen. Chichires, Vertonghen and Kaboul must be injured I suppose. Edited 16 December, 2013 by Window Cleaner
adrian lord Posted 16 December, 2013 Posted 16 December, 2013 Seems to me that AVB struggled at both Chelsea and Spurs to gain the respect of his players and lacked authority as a result. I suspect his relative youth played a part in that but his personality always came across as rather aloof too. However that said I think the players themselves were pretty disgraceful at Chelsea in particular in undermining the chap.
London Saint Posted 16 December, 2013 Posted 16 December, 2013 Difficult to see them losing consecutive home games even if they have lost their manager...despite their problems they still have some quality players who can hurt us

Lets B Avenue Posted 16 December, 2013 Posted 16 December, 2013 Their next game is away... No its not!! Home to Wet sham in the league cup this Wednesday.
Window Cleaner Posted 16 December, 2013 Posted 16 December, 2013 Still think it's a strange decision, Liverpool were unplayable yesterday, incredibly quick and incisive, shows just how much that old carthorse Gerrard slows them down. They'd have handed out a drubbing to anyone on yesterday's form.
JRM Posted 16 December, 2013 Posted 16 December, 2013 Their next game is away... its actually at home v West Ham on Wednesday

trousers Posted 16 December, 2013 Posted 16 December, 2013 Daniel Storey @danielstorey85 Early standout Spurs manager price: Pochettino 33/1 (BetVictor). Cracking value I'd say.
