Lighthouse Posted 14 December, 2013 Posted 14 December, 2013 Sunday afternoon for this one, early 1330 kick off. Spurs did the double over us last year with a Bale wonder strike earning them an undeserved win at the Lane last time out. He also scored the opener at St Mary's last October. Jay Rodriguez scored his first ever Premier League goal in this fixture I believe. For me Lallana, Fonte and Morgan should be back in the starting 11. A winnable game for sure but I wouldn't be too upset with a draw.
saints_is_the_south Posted 14 December, 2013 Posted 14 December, 2013 Had it in my head that we'd win this one for a while. If we can repeat our last home performance against City in this one then we certainly give ourselves a great chance of taking all 3 points. 2-1 Saints.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 14 December, 2013 Posted 14 December, 2013 Gazza Chambers Fonte Lovren Shaw Cork Morgan Davis/JWP Lallana Jrod Osvaldo
ottery st mary Posted 14 December, 2013 Posted 14 December, 2013 3-1 to Saints. team for me... Gazza Chambers Fonte Lovren Shaw Cork Morgan Lallana Davis JRod Osvaldo
Lighthouse Posted 14 December, 2013 Author Posted 14 December, 2013 Surely Davis is undroppable the way he's been playing. I'd have him in the 3 behind Osvaldo along with JRod and Lallana, the latter 2 being in excellent form themselves.
Saint_clark Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Dawson booked today, misses the game against us.
Olallana Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Dawson booked today, misses the game against us. Unfortunate.....for us.
Lighthouse Posted 15 December, 2013 Author Posted 15 December, 2013 Misses the West Ham game midweek I think. Sandro injured now, would be helpful if he missed the game. I remember Morgan nearly knocking his head off in this fixture last year.
lifeintheslowlane Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Unfortunate.....for us. Don't worry he'll be back for our game...they play West Ham in the Capital Cup on Wednesday.
Olallana Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Don't worry he'll be back for our game...they play West Ham in the Capital Cup on Wednesday. That´s better, I´ve always said that I love that league cup!!
Lighthouse Posted 15 December, 2013 Author Posted 15 December, 2013 Put this Spurs defence under a bit of pressure and large cracks start to appear. JRod and Lallana should have fun running at this lot.
dan abnormal Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Gazza Chambers Fonte Lovren Shaw Cork Morgan Lallana Davis Jrod Osvaldo Have a good feeling about this one. Alot of their defence is either injured or suspended. Vertonghen, Dawson, Rose, Chiriches could all be missing
Saint Charlie Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Anyone know when Chiriches and Vertonghen are due back?
dan abnormal Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Misses the West Ham game midweek I think. Sandro injured now, would be helpful if he missed the game. I remember Morgan nearly knocking his head off in this fixture last year. Oh, I suppose Dawson being available is actually a good thing. He has been very poor when I have watched Spurs play this season. I think the physical presence of Wanyama will be missed against Sandro and Dembele.
Saint_clark Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Sandro is injured and Dembele isn't really physical.
CWD Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 team for me... Gazza Chambers Fonte Lovren Shaw Cork Morgan Lallana Davis JRod Osvaldo That would be my team as well. Gives us a good balance of attacking flair and defensive solidity. Didn't realise this was a Sunday game though. Gonna have to rearrange work if I can.
John Boy Saint Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Watching Spurs this afternoon v Liverpool and they don't seem to like it up them!
S-Clarke Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Red card for Paulinho. They will struggle to put out a side against us. We should be winning this really, Spurs are dog **** this year.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Be interesting to see what sort of team they put out midweek.
Saint_clark Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Lubbly jubbly. Could be another sending off here yet.
Lighthouse Posted 15 December, 2013 Author Posted 15 December, 2013 4-0 down in their own back yard. 6-0 at Man City. When they don't turn up Spurs, they REALLY don't turn up.
bpsaint Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Could get AvB the sack here Just thinking the same, there's enough rumours as it is, let alone the pressure this will put on.
S-Clarke Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 I cannot get over how bad Spurs look, the worst team performance I've seen in years. Utterly clueless in possession and position. I'll be devastated if we don't beat this lot based on what I'm seeing today, especially with their suspensions and injuries. If we play our game with the intensity we do, we should beat them off the pitch and probably get AVB sacked.
Lighthouse Posted 15 December, 2013 Author Posted 15 December, 2013 That would be 5... 2 goals and 2 assists from my dream team captain
S-Clarke Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a caretaker in charge of their next game going by this...!
SaintSteve Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 I cannot get over how bad Spurs look, the worst team performance I've seen in years. Utterly clueless in possession and position. If we play our game with the intensity we do, we should beat them off the pitch and probably get AVB sacked. Maybe, but we don't play with the pace of Liverpool in the final third.. I would be tempted to play with JRod up front with lambert, Lallana and Davis as the offensive trio.
derry Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Dawson also out for this game I believe not. misses Carling cup QF according to Sky commentator.
Golden Balls Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 I vary vary rarely expect us to win a game. Usually when I do, they let me down. So apologies but I expect a 3-1 win.
Kingsland Red Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Tottenham a dysfunctional team of individuals run ragged by Liverpool. Our all in it together team's pressing game should cause them a few problems, irrespective of who we have playing.
Saint86 Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 First time in stats history that spurs haven't had a shot on target at home, personaly think you should put your saints defenders in your fantasy football team. Spurs are crushed, paulinho sent off. 3 points coming our way on the weekend.
Saint Charlie Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 There sniffing around pochettino as well. Good luck to them. Haha.
SNSUN Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Good chance to go above them in the table next Sunday. :-) Although I had 9th as my Christmas league table prediction for us, I'll happily take 8th instead!
Grey Crab Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 ACB will be sacked on Monday. New manager/caretaker manager will inspire a victory for them on Saturday.
dubai_phil Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 ACB will be sacked on Monday. New manager/caretaker manager will inspire a victory for them on Saturday. Spiritual home. Need a miracle to stay up. 'Arry it is then just in time for a return to SMS
Viking Warrior Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 That wasnt a straight red card for the spuds player, Suarez con the referee with his actions, tosser
Window Cleaner Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 That wasnt a straight red card for the spuds player, Suarez con the referee with his actions, tosser don't think so, nasty vicious tackle by Paulhino, could have dropped his foot at any time but instead he chose to give Suarez a little back flick in the ribs with it, I'd give him 6 games for that.
Turkish Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Let's hope Daniel gives AVB another week. A shambles today, but they have had some decent results away from home so this is by no means a banker.
ericb Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Not sure how i feel about the chance of AVB being sacked. It could work against us either way, if he's gone then the players will be playing for their place, and maybe a new manager. If he isn't it'll be last chance for AVB and he'll have to win. Reckon we might actually get beaten in this one, but it'll be close. I'm going 1-2 spurs and a dirty niggly game.
beatlesaint Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 That wasnt a straight red card for the spuds player, Suarez con the referee with his actions, tosser For once I dont think he did.
JoeShmoe Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Levy is an idiot and an impatient idiot. AVB will be gone tomorrow, guaranteed
Turkish Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 Levy is an idiot and an impatient idiot. AVB will be gone tomorrow, guaranteed Why is he an idiot.
BlakeySFC Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 I really have no idea how this is gonna go. There's so many variables to factor in, will AVB still be in charge? (Doubtful) will good spurs or sh!t spurs turn up. Definitely winnable, I'm gonna go for a high-scoring draw though. 2-2.
Wiggles31 Posted 15 December, 2013 Posted 15 December, 2013 If we play like we did against City and they play like that we will hammer them. Sadly football does not work like that. Really do fancy a decent home win and a great performance in this game. Revenge for last season. 3-1.
