Who is the next Saint destined for the SWF title page hall of fame? Lallana, perhaps?

 

But who would you drop to fit him in? For me, it would be a toss up between Shilton and Keegan, mainly because they weren’t with us for as long as the others.

 

Is there anyone else you think should be on there? Ron Davies, perhaps?

 

Perhaps this has been done before, in which case I apologise.

It has always been a source of irritation to me that Big Ron was not on the top banner. Even more so after his untimely demise. No-one deserves more to have been up there with the greats from our history, frankly more deserving than at least 4 of the present incumbents, but would just prefer to see him added rather than take anyone away, surely there is room for 9.

SRL needs a slimmer version, and as I'm sure has been mentioned in the past, the scorer of the goal which won our only major trophy should be up there. Otherwise, I'd put Danny Wallace there and maybe even Shearer - whilst a boring pundit, those who saw his goodbye 'announcement' at The Dell considered him a legend.

I think if any of the current crop were more of a legend elsewhere they should be replaced with players who made their name and legendary status as a Saint.

 

No disrespect to any of them as they contributed to the history of the club but to omit more deserving of the title "legend" is unfair in my opinion.

definitely - a remarkable signing but only one decent season doesn't make him a 'legend'

 

Lallana is a good shout, been with us through thin, thinner and now thick

A quote lifted straight from the 8 ft tall spray painting of him on the railway bridge approaching the ground from the City! Unfortunately, it never quite looked like it was finished, and five-ish years on has accumulated a fair bit of graffiti, including in the past few weeks some PFC 657 crap in felt pen over the spray-painted Saints badge (who knew they could write?) and some weird triangular mystic-looking symbol which I can't quite place over the eye of said Charlie Miller.

 

FWIW I don't really care who is up top, but they could be two-tiered, and if more room is needed, they could overlap the logo with the Saints badge too. Or use some of the space to the right in some of the bigger screen resolutions. I reckon you could easily get 12 on my laptop screen, though obviously the last 4 or so would be "premium content" for some. :rolleyes:

Pleased to see the BBC honouring Big Ron’s death on Sports Personality of the Year show last night. Shame they couldn’t have shown his four goals in our 4-1 win at Old Trafford - didn’t want to upset some of the Man Utd old-timers wheeled in for the Fergie love-in, I suppose.

I quite like that and totally agree Big Ron needs to be on the banner and I agree at the expense of Keegan. He did have a great season with us but he will always be a Liverpool/Newcastle legend. All the others with the exception of Shilts are Saints through and through. You could argue Lambert has got on this banner very quickly but then his impact over a short period warrants his inclusion.

 

I'm assuming those in charge have the necessary skills to make the change but if not, send me the layered PSD and I'll gladly do it (the above is obviously a very quick mock-up) :)

 

Edit: I'm guessing to maintain the timeline Ron would go in-between Terry and Mick?

Excellent!!! Now that someone is doing it, I agree about Shilts too, maybe take him out and put AL in. I know it's early for AL as well as Lambert, but I'm sure AL will be around until the end of his career. :)

While you are waiting, why not just go ahead and make a totally new one, just in case? :)

 

Could you include an animated gif of a phone salesman banging a WAG?

Glad you posted this Stickman. I was trying to post the same thing last night but had already consumed my 3 posts. I was sat watching the last part of SPOTY and was just about to throw something at the TV, so convinced was I that Big Ron would not be included. I was so glad that they did not overlook him, well done to the Beeb.

Re SPOTY last night....

 

During the England team highlights did anyone else look knowingly at their partner/wife/bit on the side and exclaim "Lambert" as the voice over recapped the highlights of the year... they mentioned the guy who came from nothing to score for his country, gave it the big build up... dreams to come true etc etc.. only to show Anderdross Townsend's fine strike and no mention of Rickie's wonderful story from August!! ****ing PLEBS!!!!!
