sussexsaint Posted 12 December, 2013 Share Posted 12 December, 2013 Lovely stuff love the skate comments underneath - not bitter at all - still going on about the 4-1 win when we were er...where exactly and they werefielding a team that they clearly had no intention of paying Sh ll la la la la la la
scdean Posted 12 December, 2013 Author Share Posted 12 December, 2013 hahah, yep. the comments just add to it. Is this kind of publicity good for them do you think? developmentally... and does it make it harder for us to hold onto them? (i think if the kids are smart, they will look at chambers, reed and friends and see they have a chance of moving forward here. a quick textie to jack rodwell et al will surely tell them that a "big move" isnt always what its cracked up to be!!) pap Posted 12 December, 2013 Share Posted 12 December, 2013 English is a wonderful language. Say this thread title out loud, and it sounds like we've a nonce down at the training ground.
badgerx16 Posted 12 December, 2013 Share Posted 12 December, 2013 "Any good young players Pompey had have been forced into the senior team due to their financial troubles." Err, isn't that what we did under Poortvliet ?
hutch Posted 12 December, 2013 Share Posted 12 December, 2013 "Any good young players Pompey had have been forced into the senior team due to their financial troubles." Err, isn't that what we did under Poortvliet ? Not true though, is it? Any good young players Pompey had were farmed out to other clubs so Pompey could pretend their squad wasn't big enough. That worked out well for them too.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 12 December, 2013 Share Posted 12 December, 2013 Until they are fully established players, is there a better place to be? A top 10 team committed to giving first team chances to younger players, facilities already praised and having millions spent to improve them further, proven track record in producing top level players, players making international . Yes, maybe we can't offer title challenges, and Champions League (yet ), but until they are banging on the door of that, there can't be many places better to be for a young player. And now we are in a position where we can maximise our return on these young talents. Happy Days

Dr Who? Posted 13 December, 2013 Share Posted 13 December, 2013 Let's hope they make it to the big time and we can field that first team of players, that came through the youth set up.
