McQueen has had back problems for months now. Suspect he will go when his current contract is up. Like the look of Sims, but I don't think he'll be ready for the first team for a while yet. Think Dom Gape might have been close, or at least got some Carling Cup involvement had he not been injured. Was at about the same level as Harrison Reed last season.

Thanks for info.. McQueen was flying at one stage and rave reports.....guessed injury might be the problem..

For his sake...hope there is a cure.......does not sound good..

Hows Jake Sinclair getting on? Wasnt he rated highly a few years ago?

It's never really kicked on for him to be honest. I think he's 20 next year, and isn't actually part of the academy anymore - he's now in the U21's. I'm not sure what the future holds for him, I'd have expected to see him feature more in some of the cup games if he was close (only had a short-few mins at Barsnley), but I don't think he is that close, and as he's 20 next year....that's got to be a little worrying. It's probably now or never for him at Saints.

Sam McQueen was showing great promise last season, until a bad spinal injury stopped him short.

He returned to training today.

Stress fracture...needed proper rest and getting back slowly. Shouldn't be a long term issue.

Whatever happened to Jack Stephens? He made his league debut for Plymouth back in Sept 2010 and was gonna be the next big thing.

Looked random and not the best at centre back against Liverpool Dev squad alongside the much more composed-looking Ross Turnbull earlier this season, not a patch on the striding colossus who went the length of the pitch against Man U Devs last season.

I think he's suffered from moving to CB. We're not short of right backs with Chambers switching to there from midfield last year, and he has far fewer opportunities to show he's decent on the ball at CB - also spends too much time going towards his own goal in the Dev team.

He and Rowe looked superb in some games for the U21s at the start of the season though.
