david in sweden Posted 7 December, 2013 Share Posted 7 December, 2013 ..we have a number of players disturbingly close to a suspension..... We really can't blame anyone too much with 8 reported injuries in the squad, but a number of others are likely to fall foul of the 5 yellows suspension rule. Wanyama (4) and Schneiderlin (3) may be out long enough to escape punishment for a while, but Fonte already has 4 yellows, and Lovren and Osvaldo 3 each. let's hope no-one is foolish enough to get red-carded.....we've enough problems already. the only up-side to this situation is we may see some new faces emerging from the Academy ..and just maybe see..... if we have another Shaw or JWP in the making. Saint Fan CaM Posted 7 December, 2013 Share Posted 7 December, 2013 Now is the time to see whether 'the Southampton way' is ready to face its biggest test yet. Do we have the quality in the wings ready and waiting to stake a claim? My feeling is we're at least one season and two transfer windows away from being fully prepared in terms of squad depth to face Prem life in the top 6. Saint86 Posted 7 December, 2013 Share Posted 7 December, 2013 Its unfortunate that no one in Rowe's postion is injured. Likewise Sinclair. They are the 2 most exciting prospects for me. If they don't get promoted they should move on to a championship team where they can get some first team football. Both are quality wingers... which sadly we don't seem to use or need.
