Getting Gambhir early on was a big wicket. He looked on fire against the Aussies recently.

How long until Shah comes into the team for either Bell or Colly then?

136-5

Now if we can just get rid of Yuvraj & Dhoni quickly, we might be in a strong position...

Your wish is granted by Harmy & Freddy! Great day for England, let's get a good 60-70 run lead and then eke out as many runs as we can as the pitch is already uneven. The longer we bat, the worse it will get for India in their 2nd innings.

Going to be a close finish, I think. Should be loads of overs for Monty and Swann judging by the turn and random bounce they were getting towards the end of play today.

have we blown it or india won it brilliantly (94 still to win but tendulkar and yuvraj still there looking comfortable) ?

great advert to test cricket, but its galling when we're on the receiving end of an historical win/defeat...

I think we blew it yesterday with the poxy run rate (as usual). We should have put the game beyond India by about the tea break on the 4 th day.

I'm gutted but Tendulkar is one of the all time greats and just showed exactly why, so no disgrace as England played very well IMO, India's time has come and they are now a force away from home too.

A little from A and a little from B, I suspect.

While I don't think we can complain too much about three century innings for our batsmen (particular credit due for those given the complete lack of practice), apart from them there weren't too many contributors. We could - and probably should - have had 400+ in the first innings, and only three players made double figures in the second innings.

We bowled very well in the Indian first innings, but made a mess of it with the new ball in the second which allowed Sehwag to get them off to a flyer. A bit more discipline with line and length would probably have put us is complete control going into today's play. While Harmison and Anderson are up with the best of them on their day, they're the complete polar opposite when things aren't going their way, which then piles the pressure onto the other bowlers.
