Police dont deal with real criminals now they spend more time chasing motoring offences,

Its easier to get a conviction and the police because of Health and safety regulations can no longer put their officers at risk of catching real criminals

I pleaded not guilty to a speeding ticket for doing 54mph on a 60 limit dual carriageway (i had photographic evidence and witnesses there were no signs warning of a temporary 40mph speed restriction) - it took 18 months four hearings and a heap of witnesses. Found guilty because "I should have known" (how, by clairvoyance?) there were speed restrictions on an unmarked road. Total waste of everybody's time. Ended up with £500 in costs and fines, plus I missed a week of work all told. The bloke in the court next door got a weeks community service for a burglary.

Ummmm...people in violation of Health & Safety Laws are real criminals!

No, they're not. So what if illegal tyres resulted in causing an accident that wipes out an entire family. It's an easy mistake to make not to check your tyres, or to leave it until you get caught for having illegal tyres before replacing them. It's just bad luck if they caused an accident. The same goes for driving without insurance. So what if you hit someone and disable them them for life and not be able to afford any compensation. It's not like you meant for that to happen; doesn't make you a criminal. And driving without a valid MOT....it's easy to forget to put your car in for an MOT. So what if you're a few days late when your wheel shaft snaps on the motorway causing a pile up. Doesn't make you a criminal....

It would be funny if your entire family got wiped out by a non-criminal by someone driving a car with no MOT Certificate, bald tyres and no insurance; even funnier if the wheel shaft snapped and your mother was decapitated in the resulting smash.
