wonder how much brunley will rotate, given they are fighting it out at the top of the league

I did wonder this, out the back of the Christmas period as well.

Not one to play all the kids in, capable as they are

I would be surprised if Burnley put out a full strength team for this, promotion is worth so much more to them than a small cup run (realistically, they aren't going to win it). I would also put out a reserve team as the fixtures always pile up around this time of year. Maybe give Banega his debut too. ;)

Kelvin

Chambers - Yoshi - Tuesday night Jos - Fox

Cork - Reed

Davis - Gaston - Isgrove

Lambert

That would pretty much have been our first 11 at the start of last season and it should have enough quality to do the business against Burnley reserves.

Anyone know what's happened to Isgrove? He was at the top of the "Under 21s getting onto the 1st team bench" list a while back but the likes of Reed seem to have over-taken him? I don't think he's turned out for the U21s much this year either? Injured maybe?

Nobody yet moaned about it being a boring draw or a meh draw ?

Hopefully most people have realised that there are 63 teams in the draw and only about 5 of them aren't 'boring'.

In the last 5 years we've had Man Utd twice and Chelsea in the 3rd round so we can't really moan about boring ties.

Will be a good game I think.

We will only win if we put our best side out, mind you with curent crop of injuries, hard to know what our best side will be by then!

Could be a tricky game, they play some nice football and are top of the Championship, so are no mugs. Good for JRod, lets hope no-one gets sentimental and considers playing Fox against his old team though. We must put out a strong side, with 5 PL teams guaranteed to be knocked out this is a trophy we stand a chance of winning (unlike the LC which was beginning to look very tough with all the big guns still in).

Not a bad draw. Will be disappointed if this is not taken seriously. Our biggest chance of success this season lies with the FA cup. Love the FA cup.

Just hope the tickets are priced sensibly.

We obviously won't put a good team out which is annoying.

I dunno about what our policy may be on the FA cup after recent results. Hopefully, with the best we can possibly hope for is a very unlikely top four finish, NC will give the nod for a proper try at the cup? I hope so.......

Trippier being their RB :|

Sure. Replacement for Clyne when United come in with a £35 million bid. :-)

(I was joking about the OP)

I predict that both teams will assume the other team will be fielding weaker teams, so both teams will play their strongest teams in the hope of thrashing each other. Both teams will get so worked up trying to beat each other it will end up like it does in the movies...They fight and quarrel, then it ends up in a snog fest and everyone gets banged in a heat of passion.

We need to take this serious, no messing about like the league cup.

If we chuck both cups and finish 8th - 15th its a joke

What about 7th mate?

I was one of the 8,000 or so who forked out £22 to watch was basically our second string struggle to beat Bristol City in the League Cup.

Team looked strong enough on paper to beat Div 1 basement dwellers but if it hadn't been for Kelvin Davies we might not have got through

We will need to be relatively strong for this fixture and prices will have to be reasonable too

Could really do with tickets being cheap to try to get a big crowd

Jay rod, cork & fox should all be well up for this one

Cheaper than a league game maybe, just. Can see them being around £25

Already sorted :ninja:

Are you talking about Nathan who lived in Whiteley, moved to oz a couple of years back, used to be in the Northam, block 42 - used to sit next to him if so, would be good to catch up!

This is a good draw, Burnley unlike us have a valid reason to play a weakened side and they will and I am pretty confident we will run out comfortable winners on this occasion if we play like we did yesterday and have at home for most of the year, slowing the game and keeping the ball could be key as to creating space and tiring them out.

Tricky draw but an interesting one too.

I hope we take the FA cup seriously, it's our one chance of silverware left and we have a fighting chance of winning it.

Put out our best team and we should get through although Burnley play some good stuff and will have their tails up.

Yeh, a couple of years ago we'd have laughed ourselves silly at the thought of being 8th in the EPL
