Saints vs Man City - Build Up

Can't help but feel we'll get tonked unfortunately... And I'm usually one of the more positive types.

No Boruc, Clyne, Morgan or Wanyama = leaky defence. Lovren can't stop them all by himself ref: Villa.

If we get anything, I'll be one happy man.

We were always going to struggle if we had injuries to key players as we don’t have a load of spare internationals to bring in. It is unfortunate that we have so many injuries at once but let’s not rubbish what we have left on the back of away losses to the top two teams in the country and a freak loss to Aston Villa. I have complete confidence in Chambers doing a good job a right back and Jos and Yoshi did well for us at the end of last season.

City are bad away from home so I can see a 2 all draw.

Also Matt Target being tipped for the bench, is he now ahead of Fox as Shaw’s back up?

Just setting of for the match. First home game this year. Vienna to Bratislava to Stansted pick up car from Cambridge and drive to Southampton.

Do you think i'm coming the furthest for a home match?

Not sure, I'm coming from Andover.

I have an invite to a party tomorrow. Free booze and 140 chicks with about 40 blokes. Over 60% of the chicks will be batting for the other side and "dancing" together...........

And instead, I am going down the pub with the rest of the Dubai Massive as we are the only game on tv here at 3pm UK tomorrow.

I Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo know I am going to regret the decision to watch the football.

Whatever the result, however good or bad the game (I've been to loads of them), I will remember it for the rest of my life.

Because tomorrow I'll have the privilege of being one of 32,500 people who stand to honour Nelson Mandela.

Suddenly, the game and the result seem a little less important than they did yesterday.

Just got over the trauma of Wednesday night - 250 mile round trip after work, traffic jams making us 15 mins late, losing to my closest geographical premier team and putting up with all the villa fans taking the ****! However I think we'll win tomorrow for some reason. Can't wait!! COYR!

Been in hiding since the Villa game not wanting to know the extent of all the injuries. Finally checked the BBC tonight and it just ain't pretty. Can't believe we have this many bad knocks all at the same time. God knows how long Wanyama will be out with a hairline fracture.

Even with City's recent form I was hopeful of an upset, partially due to their flaky away form, but with no Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Clyne or Boruc and Fonte doubtful? I fear a big loss TBH.

Fox is currently injured.

Make that 32,499. I'll be spending an extra minute in the pub so I don't have to be apart of the big circus act.

Would go all out attack for this one, would much rather lose 4-3 than hold out for a 0-0 for 85 minutes before a sucker punch in the end...

-----------------Gazza-----------------

Chambers---Fonte------Lovren--Yoshida

------------------Davis----------------

Lallana------------Ramirez-----Rodriguez

-----------Osvaldo-------Lambert------

Should be good for a 2-2 that lineup... we WILL concede (more than one) so imo just a question of how many we can score in reply...

Not sure what Mandela has got to do with football but giving the bloke a round of applause is a nice thing to do so I don't know why anyone would have a problem with it. Then again, know what ***ts are on here it doesn't surprise me.

I can see City giving us a right dicking. Wanyama and Schneiderlin are massive players for us, with Boruc out as well it doesn't bode well.

Of which you're arguably one of the biggest pal.

Yeah obviously. The whole World are showing their respect to a great man, you have to come on here to find emotionally stunted scrotes who have issues with giving someone a round of applause.

You were advocating the killing of innocent people earlier today pal, yet you're calling others emotionally stunted scrotes, you couldn't make it up!!

Agreed, I'm not too fussed about the game, I'm mainly looking forward to the minute's applause.

Whilst I dont necessarily agree with the relevance at a football match Id say it is a tad ignorant not to appreciate the man and so hold a minutes silence for his passing.

But then I suppose there are those who are completely OTT for these sorts of emotional public outpouring aswell so I get both sides of that particular coin

As far as Saints V City

Itll be a tough one but I reckon we will either scrape a draw or get thumped 3-1. Im normally more of an optimist then a pessimist bit looking at this Ill stick to what Ive said in my other thread, we look mentally and physically tired and knocks are taking there toll. Not just this but Morgan was the fulcrum to our tactics and morgan was so muchore effective in the defensive phase then Cork and would allow the FullBacks more freedom.

Without them both I think we will struggle to pull off our game plan and considering Ive not seen much of a plan B (admittedly as plan A has been so effective) I dont think we will play another way.

Id love to be proven wrong though

A good example of why it's perhaps better to use an interpreter...

http://www.mcfc.co.uk/citytv/Interviews/2013/Southampton-v-City-presser-I

Not really. More like something that usually happens when you're learning/don't yet dominate a language. And to be fair Pellegrini is not absolutely clueless in English.

I agree with Pochettino's approach but I would like to see him at least give interviews to the club website in English. I guess that in time he will become more confident.

Edmonton to Southampton is 4,225 miles - I came from the Cayman Islands for the Sunderland home game which is 4,765.
4,908 from Portland. Poch's first game. Just saying….. ;)

Are we now arguing about Nelson Mandela? Surely we have still more milage in all our other previous arguments?
