wessex saint Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 (edited) Why cant EVERYONE on here just get along? We are a family The irony here is quite delicious ! Edited 7 December, 2013 by wessex saint
wessex saint Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 (edited) 4,908 from Portland. Poch's first game. Just saying….. Edit ... Unnecessary trolling on my part ? Edited 7 December, 2013 by wessex saint
Golac's Iron Gonads Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 I've stuck the entirety of my betting account funds on a Man City win, not so much because we are without Boruc, Wanyama, Clyne and possibly others but because they are without our biggest weapon Gareth Barry. Make me cry and curse you Saints!
Saint Fan CaM Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Massive test for some of the bit players. Perhaps Poch will blood a youngster or two as its odds on we'll find this a struggle? Can't see anything other than 0-4 result...could be worse than that even...City look great at the moment. COYS!
richard Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Are we now arguing about Nelson Mandela? Surely we have still more milage in all our other previous arguments? Haha!
Red Alert Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Never in recent times have i woken up less enthusiastic about going to a game as I am today. I can't see us getting anything at all from this one today. Would also be impressed if we kept city below 4 goals against us.
Restark19 Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 One thing that may help us out is that City face Bayern in the Champions league on tuesday, they will absolutely not want to lose that game
spd Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Time to support especially with the youngsters breaking through!
lifeintheslowlane Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Three One Threeee One Three One Three One....Three One Three One Threeeee Oneeeeah. Three One Three One Three One Three One Threeee One Three One Three Oneahhhh. That's 3-1 to our gallant lads of course...looking forward to the game, ready to croak out all the old songs and get behind the boys.

I can't see us getting anything at all from this one today. Would also be impressed if we kept city below 4 goals against us. Just one to endure really. Having said that I may not bother either having no interest whatsoever in the mercenaries who play under the guise of Man City who seem to spend most of their time sucking their wrists. It's not that I don't want to watch Saints reserves today but what's the point when the outcome is such a foregone conclusion

Should get a GP appointment first thing on Monday if I were you.
Supersubpuckett Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 We are going to get a right humping today
Bucks Saint Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 We are going to get a right humping today Good for you and your, er.., "friend"
Batman Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 if cardiff can beat them, then the team we put out can but i doubt it toady, city seem to be getting into gear and aguero is awesome
Mowgli Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Never in recent times have i woken up less enthusiastic about going to a game as I am today. I can't see us getting anything at all from this one today. Would also be impressed if we kept city below 4 goals against us. If I couldn't get enthusiastic about a big game against city then I think I'd pick another sport to follow. Ping pong maybe?
Roger Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 I'd gamble on Ramirez today. Only chance we have!
Wes Tender Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Before this run of difficult fixtures, I would have expected a win against Aston Villa and maybe a point or two at least from the Arsenal, Chelsea and City fixtures, largely from optimism generated by our position so far and the 4 points taken from Liverpool and Man Ure. However, that would require us to have the best players all available and with key players like Boruc, Schneiderlin and Wanyama not available and having undergone 3 defeats in a row, I don't think that we will get anything from this match.
lifeintheslowlane Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Um! Should get a GP appointment first thing on Monday if I were you. Don't need it...60 years of the highs and lows gives you a perspective on defeatist bleating. Live life as realistic optimist and every little upset soon takes its place in the damp stained cardboard box at the back of the shed. I'll enjoy the win even more than the pessimist who think the game is lost before the first whistle.
SaintSteve Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 I'd gamble on Ramirez today. Only chance we have! Hang on.. we still have a competitive side out today.. agree on Ramirez gamble but this game is winnable; think we ened to hit the front players quicker and put their defence under pressure.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Prepared to see us try to keep possession a lot and park a bus to limit the loss. This could be a very bad loss though...probably 0-4 and Gazza put in the dock once again.
DuncanRG Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 One thing that may help us out is that City face Bayern in the Champions league on tuesday, they will absolutely not want to lose that game They might rest one or two but they've already qualified, and they'd have to beat Bayern by 3 goals to win the group. Wouldn't expect any key players out today...and besides, they've got a pretty deep squad!
pangy Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Is Morgan out today ? Would love to see Ramirez and Osvaldo together but cant see it today,I also wanted to see J-rod playing centre with Gaston behind to see if that worked.
Leslie Charteris Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Perhaps the only cause for optimism is looking at the team who won 3-1 last year, as has been mentioned elsewhere.
Barry the Badger Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Mandela, whoooooah Mandela, whoooooah He fought for liberty He ****in hates Pompey
Leslie Charteris Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 We are the 3 o' clock commentary on 5 Live again today. I think that is the fifth time this season. Is that a record?
itchen Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 We are the 3 o' clock commentary on 5 Live again today. I think that is the fifth time this season. Is that a record? No, it's live.
NewYorkSaint Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Put me among the optimists. I predict: - at least one spectacular save from Gazza - a break out performance from Osvaldo - terrific battling effort from Jack Cork - dazzling game for Lallana Torpedos be damnned. I'm going for 2-2.
Saint_Tony Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 We really couldn't be playing them at a worse time. They're unstoppable at home so we have a glimmer of hope. It seems such a nailed on City victory that we might just pull off a surprise result like last season
Suhari Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 We are going to get a right humping today Yep. Hard and dry and relentless. And I bet they won't call again.
Saint_Tony Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 That team is weakened, but good enough to do the job. Attacking options on the bench too
Lighthouse Posted 7 December, 2013 Author Posted 7 December, 2013 *Alpine mode activate* We're going to get spanked *alpine mode deactivate*
dan abnormal Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Considering the amount of injuries we have that is still a decent team.
Olallana Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Could be a sort of 4-3-2-1. Depends on how JWP will be positioned..
Wade Garrett Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Good to see Fonte starting. Pretty good side apart from the keeper. 4-2-3-1.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 A mistake to start osvaldo imho Only way to beat Man City is by playing ugly.... Long balls to big front men. Cardiff, sunderland, villa they all played ugly and beat them. We cannot try and match them with passing and hustle as they are the masters
Golac's Iron Gonads Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 *Alpine mode activate* We're going to get spanked *alpine mode deactivate* Not negative enough to be authentic, need to go deep into how certain problems have been apparent for the last 2 years, and this result will be the one that sends us spiralling down into the conference.
Dalek2003 Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 All the chickens coming home to roost today. We have had a lucky run in the last two years and have not addressed big problems. I can see us sliding down to the bottom three, relegated and in Div 1 before long.

Dalek2003 Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 I'd say nice try but it's not, it's just lazy. Ok, must try harder.
Olallana Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Dreading this Why are you dreading things you expect week in week out??
UpweySaint Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 I think we can look at today as a bit of a gift really. With our injuries and citys form any other result would be brilliant. gives some of the fringe players a chance to show their worth without too much pressure while osvaldo might well be buzzing after his goal midweek. I'l go for a plucky 2-2 with Osvaldo scoring a worldie
BlakeySFC Posted 7 December, 2013 Posted 7 December, 2013 Why are you dreading things you expect week in week out?? Don't like seeing the team get ruined, it's going to massacre our morale.
