Suhari Posted 4 December, 2013 Share Posted 4 December, 2013 Really concerned now at our lack of creativity in the final third. We do nothing incisive. Hopeful, floated crosses into the box won't provide a real threat to prem defences. Passing neatly around the edge of the final third may look nice but where's the penetration? RedArmy Posted 4 December, 2013 Share Posted 4 December, 2013 This is the same group of players (more or less) that played quick paced, pass and move football that tore teams to shreds under NA. We look like we haven't got a clue going forward more often than not these days.

Agree 100% now if we had someone who could finish like the bloke who hit their third we would have won by a hatful tonight. Too much trying to walk the ball into the net and too much fiddle faddle in our third too.
Saint Garrett Posted 4 December, 2013 Share Posted 4 December, 2013 It's no different to the start of the season, just now we're conceding crap goals. 8 goals conceded in 3 games is not good enough. On another day we would have won 2-0 tonight and maybe nicked a point or more at Arsenal or Chelsea.
S-Clarke Posted 4 December, 2013 Share Posted 4 December, 2013 We scored 2 goals and created numerous other opportunities, including 2 that hit the bar. I didn't see a great deal wrong with our attacking intent or approach tonight, if there is one criticism it's the lack of that ''finishing'' touch, but we did have an attacking verve to our play today. And as mentioned above, if we remembered how we'd been defending throughout the year, we'd have won that 2-0 anyway and there wouldn't have been a thread like this! 8 goals conceded in 3 games, isn't going to yield much success, no matter how many you score at the other end. Have you ever tried to play against 8 at the back? Teams like united and arsenal and Liverpool can break those teams down because they have world class attacking players. We don't. Tonight was always going to be a struggle as it will be against mid and lower table teams at home all season. They will park the bus. The disappointing thing tonight was we actually managed to fight our way thru and score twice, but defensively we let ourselves down.

Nobody complained when we werent letting many in, and infact we restricted them to 3 shots on target tonight so on another night would have probably won. Our problem in this system is that Lambert is not the man to lead it and Ossie isnt firing yet. But this is nothing new, I said this last year when MoPo came in but I was told Lambert would be ok. Our problem is we have started letting in silly goals, cut that out and we will be ok
