Saint-Armstrong Posted 4 December, 2013 Posted 4 December, 2013 We made a big error in the first half We made it difficult for ourselves There were other factors in the first halgf I had to make more chances and take a risk When you let in three goals, that does not make a positive result Wanyama and Clyne will be assessed They are injured, but we don't know what's wrong with them right now I am angry, I am actually very angry When you create 21 chances and score two, and they score 3 out of 4, you cannot expect a good result Tonight we were not united defensively That has frustrated me This team is usually united and solid at the back We need to deeply analyse this We made some unacceptable mistakes The opponent also benefitted from some luck We must analyse this, because it wasn't good enough
Barry Sanchez Posted 4 December, 2013 Posted 4 December, 2013 He is more honest than some of the punters on here, fair play to him.
Minty Posted 4 December, 2013 Posted 4 December, 2013 He is more honest than some of the punters on here, fair play to him. No, I think most would agree with him... where the disagreement comes is when some people cannot see beyond this poor defensive performance and proclaim that that's it, the 'bubble' has burst, and it's down, down, down from here, when it's a lesson to be learnt from. We know we're better than we were today, we have set higher standards for ourselves, and we need to get back to those. There's no reason why we can't. Honesty works both ways. Being honest about where we can improve, but also about how far we have come. And importantly, that we're still heading in the right direction.
Wade Garrett Posted 4 December, 2013 Posted 4 December, 2013 Real test of Poch's management now. Reckon he's learned a fair bit about his squad, and a signing or 2 to strengthen key positions could be on the cards in January.

I could be wrong but did MP not state recently that we would not be going into the transfer market in Jan?
Wrensup Posted 4 December, 2013 Posted 4 December, 2013 Hindsight helps, but why did we not start with Fonte seemed to be an unnecessary change, which probably is the main reason we was unsettled at the back.
S-Clarke Posted 4 December, 2013 Posted 4 December, 2013 Honest and fair assessment. At least he doesn't try to brush over the results moaning about the officials or decisions, or injuries. I'm sure he'll get right into them over the rest of this week. I wouldn't be surprised if we beat City to be honest, it's what we do...
captainchris Posted 4 December, 2013 Posted 4 December, 2013 Fair comments..... Villa are terrible and we gift them three goals.
buctootim Posted 4 December, 2013 Posted 4 December, 2013 Fair comments..... Villa are terrible and we gift them three goals. Hardly. A very young and improving mid table side.
Wade Garrett Posted 4 December, 2013 Posted 4 December, 2013 [/b]I could be wrong but did MP not state recently that we would not be going into the transfer market in Jan? He did, but after a few performances tonight he might change his mind.
saint-crinny Posted 4 December, 2013 Posted 4 December, 2013 Would have liked him to explain the decision to bring in Maya for Fonte (apologies if I missed it) - big call considering Boruc was already missing, breaking a key aspect of the defensive stability we have had this season, when another major player was already out. Backfired as well - all over the place at time at the back today.
Tamesaint Posted 5 December, 2013 Posted 5 December, 2013 Just seen the interview on Saints Player. He did look cross. Very cross. I would not have like to be closeto him last night.
Leicestersaint Posted 5 December, 2013 Posted 5 December, 2013 I agreed with Mopo - I like his attitude.
St Matty Posted 6 December, 2013 Posted 6 December, 2013 Vila beat arsenal 3-1 at the emirates so they are useful
Bucks Saint Posted 6 December, 2013 Posted 6 December, 2013 Vila beat arsenal 3-1 at the emirates so they are useful This. Their problem is that they are inconsistent. But they have showed before that when their players are on form, they can play well and win, and can be stubborn to beat too.
