Is Harrison Reed ready to start?

With Schneiderlin out, could Harrison Reed come in? I didn't see the Barnsley or Sunderland games, so forgive me I'm not exactly sure if he is ready or the right sort of player to replace Morgan. Could he do it and fit into the team just as JWP did? Probably?

I'm sure Poch and Cortese would be very keen to get another academy player in the first team, and at home to Villa might be a good time to introduce him?

Or is all this winter sun going to my head?

Of course he is ready. That is why he has been part of the squad for several games this season. But Morgan being injured does not mean we have to throw him in just yet. We have bags of experience for that posistion in JWP, Davis and Cork. Hell, even Lallana can do a good job there. Cork is the natural replacement but Davis has performed well each time he's been called on so far this season. JWP or Lallana playing there would leave a more serious create gap behind the lone striker.

Who cares if he is ready? We are unlikely to make euro qualification this season, and we aren't getting relegated (that is for damn sure!) so lets get these kids in and blood them as much as possible, yes we may lose some games, but f**k it, its a wasted season for me if we A.) don't get europe, or, B.) Don't blood the youngsters.... needs to be one or t'other frankly.

So what you're saying is you'd be happy finishing 17th if we played a few youngsters here and there?

While nobody wants us to finish 17th, Saint86 makes a good point - if we don't make Europa qualification then it doesn't really matter where we fall between 8th-17th (save for a few quid for league placings which is not that significant in the scheme of things). So blooding youngsters could bode well for us in the future.

When we are safe, yes, but not until then.

Official twitter just posted a picture of Reed making a tackle, reckon he's nailed on start.

I don't think the media team know the team selection that far in advance!

Reed's looked promising in the League Cup games but it's a tough position and he's hardly had any minutes in the Premier League. I'd expect a few run-outs from the bench (possibly tonight/as long as Morgan's out) before he's in contention to start.

I was very impressed with him up at Sunderland, I quite fancy the idea of him being eased into the team in the latter stages as SD understudy, take off a Jack Russell of a midfielder and replace him with another Jack Russell except this one is on Speed and wired into the mains! His brief cameo showed he has no fear against " the bigger boys" and his little burst of acceleration he showed yesterday had folks sat around me getting a bit excited.
