As far as I know Davis in for Morgan,Ossie out and Rickie in and possibly Fonte dropped to the bench but don't hold me to that i`m only human.

Cheers for that. Interesting about Fonte? What's he done wrong??? He's been a star this year, I'd have thought the last thing you'd do to an unsettled defense, is unsettle it even more (although he may have a knock of course)

defence S, defence. Perhaps Fonte isn't as fit as we'd like to think, a few of our players might have been trying to play with knocks and strains for a couple of weeks now...or so I might have heard allegedly like. Might well explain why we cracked up when Chelsea turned up the wick last Sunday. They all want to play all of the time.

Thought fonte was poor against Chelsea - constantly going for players rather than the ball. One encounter against Hazard in the first half summed it up perfectly: won have the ball had he not focused as much on trying to shoulder Hazard out of play. Of course, he might be overcompensating because he's picked up an injury.

Agree, thought he was back to last years vintage but as you say he might have a niggle. Also might be tactical to counter Benteke

Dream scenario tonight:

Man U/Everton... draw

Liverpool/Norwich... draw or Norwich sneak a win

Swansea/Newcastle... home win or draw

Saints win by 3 or 4 goals.

In that scenario we can edge out 4th place by end of eve.

Unfortunately you could get good odds against that combo of results.

I'd settle for any win and a move to 6th.

I'm excited to see what this team can do. Yoshida's great. Glad to see him get another chance. Wd love love love to see Lallana/Lambert/JRod dazzle some creative goals....

When will people understand players take time to bed in to the PL...frustrating,but has happened with lots of players before.

On the other hand they can just click in a couple of games like Lovern and Victor. The PL is to tough to be able to give players a free ride for half season in a hope they bed in. It's probably a coincidence that the two PL era signings that haven't really clicked both came from playing Italy.

Still think Gaston will be ok. I think pic his looking for a reaction from him. As poch said, gaston knows what he needs to do.

So, 4-3-3 tonight?

Ad's, Rickie and jrod up front ?

Formation thoughts?

looks to me as a 4132 formation on paper unless jwp is going to be used as a DM

For me this is one of our biggest tests as a team this season. A couple of defeats, a couple of injuries, and now a winnable game. We'll find out how strong we are as a group in this situation - both with respect to the quality of the team and belief we have in the system.

Ever since the League 1 days I've always thought we've been a confidence team built on momentum. Without that momentum I've always thought we can be a bit soft at times. Tonight is a game where we need to show we can bounce back and deal with a bit more adversity than we've had at any point this season. I'll be looking at the general body language of the players and how expressive they are with the ball - you can always tell when professionals play with a bit of fear and trepidation.

I hope we've got enough but it feels like one of those games where if we do go a goal behind the team may take a while to pick itself up during the game and by then it may be too late. I hope to be proved wrong!

Benteke dropped?

thats interesting in and of itself, im in Birmingham working this week and rumours are he's been talking to other clubs re: Jan move

He's only just come back from injury and was off the pace against Sunderland. Kozak looks decent so with two games in 4 days they can afford to drop him
