I'd like to see us play a more attacking style at home, especially in the more "winnable" games - just tweaking the current line-up by pushing the 2nd DM into a more traditional CM role but reverting to type when needed if under pressure from the opposition by moving Davis into the DM role and JRod to (a)ML

-------- Gazza --------

Clyne - Fonte - Lovren - Shaw

-------- Big Vic -------

- JWP - Lallana - Davis -

---- SRL ------------

--------- JRod -------

Exactly. We don't see him on the training field, we actually haven't seen him for a ****ing age. And he would have been hard pressed to save either of the goals on sunday. As always, it may take more than preconceptions to actual assess the situation. Let's see how he plays tonight.

not sure about that, I thought the 3rd goal was soft rolling past him

Think we shoud drop Wanyama tonight so he dosnt get booked shoud start with Davis and Cork

So you think we should compromise our team in winnable games against Villa and Newcastle so that we have him available for a game we are unlikely to win against one of the best teams in the league?

If Vic gets suspended tonight then so be it, suspensions happen. I don't see the need to put 6 much more realistic points at risk though.

We could go with davis and cork in the middle tonight to ensure wanyama can play on saturday. Villa midfield is pretty lightweight so cork and davis should at least compete and not get overrun.

Osvaldo needs a run of games to get in the groove. This guy is class but has had a stop start time of it with us thus far.

I would recall Lambert and play 3 strikers up front. They can all switch positions and pull defenders out of position and look to get in that way. So a midfield 3 of lallana/cork or wanyama/davis. I can see JWP being rested, but the problem with this we will miss his set piece deliveries which are exquisite and always gives you a chance regardless if team plays good or not. No guarantee Lallana will play either if he is still nursing this groin injury.

Be interesting to see what Poch goes with.

If MP has such faith in him, how come he's been behind Kelvin Davis for the League Cup games this season?

Because MP also has faith in KD presumably. Which you would know having read the quotes:

There was a great chant for Artur at the very beginning of Sunday's match at Chelsea.

"There's only one Artur Boric"

He clearly appreciated it and responded positively making some great saves.

So tonight before the kick off:

"There's only one Gazzaniga!"

It will boost his confidence to know that we are with him in this big match for him and Saints.

That's the first big part we supporters can play in the game.

If that's the case then I can see Cork leaving in January to get the first team football he should be playing, seeing as he isn't even first choice backup in his position.

Cork has been out injured for a week and a half. Don't forget that we have a very thin line which needs to tackle city as well.

I agree it is worrying that he isn't getting in the team, as a i fell we could use him, however I will wait to see how much game time he gets in the next couple of games before I assumed he is on his way.

Definitely. He's a youngster in a very high profile position - needs some encouragement from the crowd!

Got a very good feeling about this game. Similar display as against Fulham, denying Villa a single shot on goal. 2-0 Saints.

Yep - I reckon similar. We've had 2 tough away games - now back to mullering mug teams at home. 3-0 Saints.

He can't be particularly impressed with him if he considers him a worse 'keeper than Davis, not even warranting the exposure of the League Cup.

I would bring Cork in for Morgan alongside Vic but also bring Davis in to the "hole" role to add some fresh energy.

Lambert up front with Lallana, Davis and Osvaldo supporting. JWP and Rod on the bench for this one. Think they both looked a little jaded on Sunday. Thought Lovren looked off the pace too. If he's not 100% I'd give Jos a game.

I'm not a fan of shoehorning Lambert and Osvaldo into the team but I want Lambert in for this one and we will never see the best of Osvaldo if the only time he starts is away to the top teams.

Im convinced Osvaldo or Christian Benteke (or both) will get some goals soon! Its tight at the top and problem is everyone has very similar teams.

Im thinking outside the box and potential sneaky transfer for the next big thing

Haven't been watching Benteke lately but no suggestion whatsoever OsWaldo will get "some goals" anytime in the near future!

Then again I prefer relying on tried and tested methods on which you might beg to differ.

I NEED YOUR HELP!!

I am riding high in the fantasy football league (site link below) from 280,645 I am now in the top 50 overall!!

Question is do I stick with my front 3 of Agüero, Lukaku and Suárez or do I bring in Osvaldo or Christian Benteke?

I heard Ricky van Wolfswinkle & Gary Hooper are gonna tear this league up.

What on the Holy Ground of Riverside Park (formerly known as Bitterne Park Rec) where the outrageous footballing talent of Young Window Cleaner (aged 5) was first revealed to the watching world.

I played my last ever competitive game there for a team called 'Riverside' formerly Uni Marine. My last act was to pick the ball out of the net in an horrendous rain storm!

Game abandoned.

You must be Garry Wood then :-) ... WoodStock United

He's the only person in the Scotland league in the top 50 overall who funnily enough doesn't have that midfield....mmmmmm
