''The Optimists''. Excellent. Happy clappers was so last year.

But I agree, it's bloody hard to be optimistic when we've only managed to get to 7th in the PL within 5 years. Such a hard time being a Saints fan, that's for sure.

Is this the back to back promotion bit?

Feck me, you still banging on on this thread. Can't you give it a rest with your constant claptrap. We got your point 200 post ago, it was as ridiculous then as it is now.

dunno barry, i reckon if i expressed (your?) opinion that all the mattresses and birthday cards in the world ain't likely to breech the gap to top four, which i kind of agree with, I dunno that people would be jumping down my throat bout it. Maybe it's ur charm.

Quite possibly but the self indulgent love in with Cortese is sickly though.

Perfect, from the jaws of Bears.

To be fair to Turkish he has a reasonable opinion on football and despite his fishing trips is a Saints fan.

Not convinced that some others fall into that same category.

Anyway, having waded through the BS on here (see what I did there) I have to say what an interesting article it was. It does strike me that we have developed much of the professionalism demonstrated in Rugby by Woodward, Cycling by Brailsford and Cricket by Flower.

Premiership football is such a marginal game, these little things could be the difference.

I don't mind Turkish at all and respect his posts.

Think he might have grown on me

Forum is better for people like him just repeats some things too frequently.

I hope that, one day, Barry can find happiness. Whatever it is that is making him respond to such a joyful article as that in such a way must be pretty awful. But he's a Saints fan, so I hope he comes to terms with whatever it is that happened to him and he gets to enjoy this small window of joy and optimism that we are having as Southampton fans. Lord knows these times don't last, so I hope he can escape the darkness soon. Best wishes to you, Barry. It's not your fault. It's NOT your fault.
