I prefer King Alfred or Waterfront Pub last times...

Lord Duckhunter Posted 28 November, 2013 Posted 28 November, 2013 Used to like the red lion, but god knows what they've done to it. Tried the frog and parrot, but gets too busy. Alex is ok, but gets a bit frustrating sometimes, landlord keeps running out and sometimes you end up with a plastic glass. Why anyone would drink in the Alfred is beyond me and another one I can't stand is the encore.

The Alex definitely isn't the best pub in Southampton, No-where near. Not bad for the occasional pint or two. Re. the OP, all depends what you like in a match day pub really.
