Barry Sanchez Posted 28 November, 2013 Share Posted 28 November, 2013 fur lined hats, ski jackets designed for -25, is this needed? Is it just me who gets ****ed off by this complete limpness at not even cold weather? In Liverpool right now its 9 degrees and there are people all around looking as if they are in the Polar region, come tomorrow night the same people will harden up and be wearing nothing for a night on the town. buctootim Posted 28 November, 2013 Share Posted 28 November, 2013 I went to Russia in January once without really understanding what 'cold' meant. Everybody had furlined hats and boots I had a cheapo parka no hat and DMs. It was -26c one day but warmed up to -16c. Is this the right thread for that? Huffton Posted 28 November, 2013 Share Posted 28 November, 2013 Why would you get ****ed off at the way somebody else chooses to keep warm?

Made the same mistake in Qubec - I had ice in my nose. What a hell hole that was.

Was in Finland a few years ago - minus 20 outside in the daytime, but +24 in the climate controlled shops. How quickly my attire changed from snug to sauna as I went through the doors. Unbelievable Jeff Posted 28 November, 2013 Share Posted 28 November, 2013 Why would someone get so annoyed at something so innocuous. How queer.

I worked in Moscow in the late 90's - during one of the coldest winters on record a "warm" front came through and the temp rose from -32 to -15 - and the sun came out - people were out on the streets in T-shirts drinking vodka at the many kiosks dotted around the city! influx Posted 28 November, 2013 Share Posted 28 November, 2013 Got to laugh that a thread moaning about people wearing winter clothing now has target advertising on it for North Face. Oh the irony
iansums Posted 28 November, 2013 Share Posted 28 November, 2013 What I do find strange is the number of people you see wearing shorts in the middle of the Winter. Quite often I go to SMS with a hat, gloves and 4 or 5 layers and see some bloke walking around in shorts.

Bearsy Posted 28 November, 2013 Share Posted 28 November, 2013 I have sympathy. On Tuesday I was freezing my nuts off so on Wednesday I wore big coat, but then it turned out that the weather on Wednesday was a lot more warm. It is this in-and-out running from the weather god's that is to blame. All we is ask for is consistency.
