Wiggles31 Posted 25 November, 2013 Posted 25 November, 2013 Not sure if posted: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4158639/Football-Confidential-Latest-news-in-brief-from-across-English-football.html Any la liga boffs no much about him?
LainPain Posted 25 November, 2013 Posted 25 November, 2013 His versatility would be a plus, can play all over defence apparently.
Wrensup Posted 25 November, 2013 Posted 25 November, 2013 Some random 27 year old spannish bloke, doubt it. Also, when did Poch say those quotes?
Turkish Posted 25 November, 2013 Posted 25 November, 2013 His versatility would be a plus, can play all over defence apparently. Does that not mean he's pretty average everywhere and not good enough to hold down a fixed position in a side?
LainPain Posted 25 November, 2013 Posted 25 November, 2013 Does that not mean he's pretty average everywhere and not good enough to hold down a fixed position in a side? More like Niclas Alexanderson circa FM 97/98.
buctootim Posted 25 November, 2013 Posted 25 November, 2013 So from “With the economic problems in Spain, La Liga is a very fertile market" the Sun have deduced "Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino will raid old club Espanyol for defender Javier Lopez". Top work.
melmacian_saint Posted 25 November, 2013 Posted 25 November, 2013 He wasn't a clear starter with Pochettino for most of his time there and while he is a good player for Espanyol he is certainly not a clear improvement.
lloydie Posted 25 November, 2013 Posted 25 November, 2013 Does that not mean he's pretty average everywhere and not good enough to hold down a fixed position in a side? Didnt stop Delap being OK for us!
Village Saint Posted 25 November, 2013 Posted 25 November, 2013 Didnt stop Delap being OK for us! Really - did you ever see him play?
DuncanRG Posted 25 November, 2013 Posted 25 November, 2013 So from “With the economic problems in Spain, La Liga is a very fertile market" the Sun have deduced "Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino will raid old club Espanyol for defender Javier Lopez". Top work. Eh? The quotes are never gonna be their source
david in sweden Posted 25 November, 2013 Posted 25 November, 2013 Cortese only wants us to sign Italians. ....... except that both Ramirez and Osvaldo are Spanish-speaking South Americans .....who happened to be playing in Italy.
VectisSaint Posted 25 November, 2013 Posted 25 November, 2013 Cortese only wants us to sign Italians. Bring it on. As far as I know no Italian born player has ever started for Saints. Apparently we once signed someone called Alessandro Atzeni but he never played for the first team. Don't remember him at all. Closest we have to an Italian is probably Franny :-)
