From that post i'm guessing you don't rate Wanyama?

Reel 'em in, I love big Vic. I was digging at Batman's sensationalism (almost Alpine-esque at times) to see a negative in every positive. Unless I've been whooshed?

Wanyama may very well pick up a suspension at some stage, it goes with the territory, but till then 'together as one' yes?

How was that negative. Wanyama will most likely pick up a booking in the next game or two. We give away loads of fouls. It's our style. It's good to know cork (a quality player) is ready to step in.

How was that sensationalist?

Thanks for the info. Will be a shame to lose AL but we have 3 games in 6 days to think about. Davis would be the likely replacement.

Maybe a bit of squad rotation needed the coming week.

Not worried about the midfield or attack.

Defensively we have very few (decent) alternatives. Dont see Shaw playing three games in quick succession, unfortunately.

I would give Oswaldo 90 mins today for him to get his season up and rolling. He needs it and we will need him during the season. Chelsea away will probably suit him. Hope he can put JT on his arse.

Southampton have just started to struggle a little after such a great first third to the season. They couldn't hit a barn door at Stoke, where they dominated possession as they had done in all but two of their games so far.

Sunderland knocked them out of the League Cup and though they regained their zest at home to a poor Hull side that day, Saints were well beaten at Arsenal.

Were we well beaten at Arsenal? Well the scoreline suggests so, but the reality was somewhat different. I thought we did a very good job of containing them and they only scored thanks to a suicidal piece of goalkeeping and a penalty that 99 times out of 100 wouldn't have been given.

Arsenal are the real deal this season. The table doesn't lie and the 7-point gap they have opened up at the top this weekend is no fluke. With our regular first eleven I firmly believe we would have got a better result against them, which is why I am confident that we can get a result at Chelsea today because they have been hit and miss so far this season (despite sitting 3rd currently) and are a lesser team than Arsenal IMO.

Total horse manure from the BBC.

A draw for Spuds and Utd keeps them both below us. The Sky tater seemed to think we could drop to 9th if both teams won that game. Not sure how that works.

In other news Moses starts in place of the injured Sturridge. The pundits seem obsessed with the phrase, "SAS partnership" normally but not one mention of Liverpool's "S&M partnership" so far today.

Like the look of the first 11 but theres not much on the bench to change things on the bench if it's not going well. I can only assume Gaston's future now lies away from SFC as he is regularly failing to make the match day 18 (unless he has a serious injury I don't know about). Would have been nice to see someone like Isgrove or Reed on the bench as I don't see the need for Jos and Yoshi to both be there.

Lambert came off the bench and scored last season.

Only issue with that lot is the 1 outright attacking option (Lambert) on the bench. Davis can go forward but isn't naturally attack minded.

I would say Davis is definitely attack minded.

I said not much, not nothing.

Lambert is indeed a good payer to have on the bench but I'd prefer to have 3 or 4 to go with the keeper and a couple of defenders. Cork, Jos, Yoshi and Chambers aren't going to change anything if we're losing. Davis is a hard worker but is hardly one to unlock defences.
