Doesn't seem to get many threads praising or criticising, but seems to crop up a lot.

I'm pretty happy with him this season, although yesterday he was slowing up the quick build-up, and I thought Osvaldo should've replaced him.

Anyway...

Aside from that, there's been a few demonstrations of things he has done for people. Seems a really down-to-earth guy and a good bloke.

Just came across this on Twitter: "Rickie Lambert once again shows he's a stand up guy. Sent my mates mum (a gashead who's v. Ill) a birthday card. Absolute #legend"

Just how highly do Saints fans think of Rickie Lambert?

Personally, when I think of our rise up the leagues - if you asked me for what I think of, I think of Lambert's arms-wide celebration.

Top player who is the hero of the younger generations, I'd imagine.

Saints Legend and will go down as one of the clubs greatest players imo, seems to have a genuine love for the club/fans as well, will be a great role model to some of the youngsters coming through the ranks

If players were judged on on the odd the below standard performances we would have no footballing hero's. SRL along with AL are todays true saints, they have been with us since the dark days and have grown with us to the point that they are both now internationals playing in a team that everyione is talking about, both are very close to being full blown legends.

Who could possibly say anything even remotely negative about the man, a lovely, lovely guy, a top, top, top [;-)] player and a superb role model. What's not to love? Except we're fellas and we'll you know....

Watching him score for England and then hearing the fans sing his name on the way to the Tube made me feel so proud in a way akin to how I feel when my kids do something fantastic, strange but true, He's a great ambassador for our club in many ways

Our talisman.

Many clubs have one, but for a while between MLT and Rickie, maybe we didn't have one.

I always used to admire Steve Bull and his relationship with the supporters at Wolves, and I believe he didn't even get them to the top division.
