It's ridiculous. You should be able to say whatever you like at football.

 

It should be subject to the same laws as any other public location in the UK, with a hint of practicality regarding enforcement when 20,000 people are swearing at the same time.

 

Saying cooooooont is still pretty distasteful to the majority (just about) and I think it's a reasonable request to tone it down. Pretty much any other non-illegal non-hate crime type stuff I'm fine with.

The f-word has been in the English language since the time of Shakespeare, and is so commonplace it seems ridiculous to think that 100 years ago G.B. Shaw was slated publicly for including it in one of his plays.

 

It was the 1970s before you could say "bloody" on British tv, that's not so long ago. Effs in telly pretty much came along with punk and Channel 4, all of which says the swear is not as widely accepted as you'd think.
