BlakeySFC Posted 5 December, 2013 Posted 5 December, 2013 Anyone wish they could change their votes now?
Turkish Posted 5 December, 2013 Posted 5 December, 2013 6th. Man Utd will go above us but we're better than Spurs, Everton and Newcastle. Whoops.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 14 December, 2013 Author Posted 14 December, 2013 Agreed mate. Some of the top 4 stuff has been embarrasing. We were always going to have a good start, the fixtures dictated that. I predicted 22 points for us after 11 games, however only 25 points at xmas / after 17 games Ooh
John B Posted 14 December, 2013 Posted 14 December, 2013 We will be in the top 10 which is very good we just cannot compete with the big City Clubs from London Manchester and Liverpool but Newcastle have done well this seasonk
Ohio Saint Posted 14 December, 2013 Posted 14 December, 2013 (edited) Anyone wish they could change their votes now? Nope!! I can't remember what I voted, but it would have been around 6th or possibly higher. I simply had not expected our injuries to get us before Xmas. Otherwise I think I would have been OK. The before Xmas predictions are not the same as end of season predictions. Not at all. Edit: I see it was a public poll. Just checked, and I did say 6th. I think I guessed OK. Roger Posted 14 December, 2013 Posted 14 December, 2013 I think we can beat spurs. I think to draw last two with injuries is v good especially after conceding early.
Barry Sanchez Posted 14 December, 2013 Posted 14 December, 2013 We will be in the top 10 which is very good we just cannot compete with the big City Clubs from London Manchester and Liverpool but Newcastle have done well this seasonk This is one of the most level headed posts I have read on here, we shall never compete with them as it simply wont be allowed to happen unless an Oligarch comes in, something I would hate to see but not nearly as much as the dreamers talking crap on here after 11 games about how big and good we are, its was painful..

Just people enjoying seeing us up there and playing good football. For all the Champions League talk on here, don't recall anyone saying we will finish top 4, the only people who talk about us competing with the big boys are the likes of you Bazza. Do you secretly think we can do it?
hypochondriac Posted 14 December, 2013 Posted 14 December, 2013 my 8th prediction looks good at the moment.

BlakeySFC Posted 14 December, 2013 Posted 14 December, 2013 Never in a million years and Champions League talk is in the top 4, it was painful, the "our midfield is better than Arsenals" thread, just painful. This.
Dr Who? Posted 14 December, 2013 Posted 14 December, 2013 End of January and in to February the fixtures get easier and we will I think be very close to top 6, but I think 7th as Everton are to strong and a better team than us, at the moment.

Ive read the better midfield then Utd thread which I can sort of agree woth considering its been basically the source of their poor form. The arsenal one though ? Must have missed that one. A fully fit Arsenal midfield is a joy to behold.
sotonian Posted 14 December, 2013 Posted 14 December, 2013 After the next 3 games, we are half way through the season, we will have played every team once, I personally think we will be 9th then, which is where we will probably be at the end of the season the only way we can finish higher than 9th is to do do better in the reverse fixtures of the games we have played, I think that will prove quite difficult, but hope I'm wrong
Roger Posted 14 December, 2013 Posted 14 December, 2013 We will finish 8th I think if we don't pick up too many injuries which would be huge progress. Have a go at fa cup too.
SNSUN Posted 25 December, 2013 Posted 25 December, 2013 9th. There's a gap between 9th (Spurs) and 10th (Swansea) of 5 points, which is some gap. IMO we have a tough run of fixtures and I can't see us picking up many points from them, maybe 5-7. 9th is where I predict we'll be by Christmas, but not cut adrift and ready for another push in the post-Christmas rush. (This prediction of course has the pessimistic Saints fan of old spilling out of me...) Any better and it would be a cracking achievement. Very few people were right Boom! I reckon that if you spout enough guff, you'll eventually be right once! :-D
trousers Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 Would you like salt and vinegar on that Blakey?
BlakeySFC Posted 26 December, 2013 Posted 26 December, 2013 (edited) 1 position out for me too Would you like salt and vinegar on that Blakey? Can I have a foot-shaped cake instead please? Edited 26 December, 2013 by BlakeySFC
St.Jeweller Posted 8 February, 2014 Posted 8 February, 2014 Just noticed we're still stuck in the same league position that we we're in on Christmas day,3 points today could change all that. According to Statto.com it looks like we've been 9th since the 15th December.
positivepete Posted 8 February, 2014 Posted 8 February, 2014 Most league positions are pretty meaningless in mid table, and this season the same is true in the bottom half. Points are the best judge of progress for a team in our stage of development, and we are 11 points ahead of where we were after the corresponding fixtures last season, so putting us on course for 52 points, 54 if we win today.
