Saint Charlie Posted 23 November, 2013 Posted 23 November, 2013 Didn't deserve to be on the losing team today. Just on the way back and he was superb in midfield with Morgan. Seeing as he took quite a bit of stick last week, he was excellent today and is a massive part of our success so far this season. He was also very good on the ball in a congested midfield area, and in truth is a significant upgrade from Cork.
Roger Posted 23 November, 2013 Posted 23 November, 2013 The guy was immense. Brilliant signing. Was injured vs hull. Ozil and carzola didn't have a kick.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 23 November, 2013 Posted 23 November, 2013 A real tank a beast and passed well today too protected the centre backs so well we didn't really miss lovren!
Ohio Saint Posted 23 November, 2013 Posted 23 November, 2013 Great player for us. OK, people say he can't pass, but Boruc can't dribble either.
ottery st mary Posted 23 November, 2013 Posted 23 November, 2013 Great player who will only get better. Partnership with Morgan will only improve.. Both being watched by Wenger today;)
SammyJ Posted 23 November, 2013 Posted 23 November, 2013 Than man is a brick wall, as Wilshire found out in the first half! He was blowing hard after running into that!
Lord Duckhunter Posted 23 November, 2013 Posted 23 November, 2013 ****ing hell, be was head and shoulders above any other midfielder today. It was men against boys, he was monster. Nobody has dominated like that since jimmy case. End of season he'll be buy of the season, no worries.
Hodgey Posted 23 November, 2013 Posted 23 November, 2013 He was simply immense today. Both him and Spiderman kept most Arsenal players quiet. I've been critical in the past but he had it all today - even him much maligned passing was pretty much spot on. Was like watching yaya toure on form.
S-Clarke Posted 23 November, 2013 Posted 23 November, 2013 A pretty stunning coup for us to get him, really. He's a massive player. He will do frustrating things at times, as he's still only 21 remember! Easy to forget, as he plays with such power and maturity.
DuncanRG Posted 23 November, 2013 Posted 23 November, 2013 I'm pleased to see he's settled in so quickly. He has so much potential.
Saint Garrett Posted 23 November, 2013 Posted 23 November, 2013 Just superb today, and so was Morgan. I've run out of words to describe Morgan. He's just amazing. And always is.
austsaint Posted 23 November, 2013 Posted 23 November, 2013 I've run out of words to describe Morgan. He's just amazing. And always is. I must try and watch the French National side to see who is keeping him out of midfield - they must be good. Apart from his usual high octane rugged tackling game today he delivered several quality passes in the attacking 1/3 to set up attacks.
Badger Posted 23 November, 2013 Posted 23 November, 2013 on a slight tangent, bit isn't VW coming up for - or close to - a suspension ? Sh!t out of luck if its v Man City.
Saint Charlie Posted 24 November, 2013 Author Posted 24 November, 2013 Pardon? Wanyama said after his back had been an issue all week before the game.
Tom28 Posted 24 November, 2013 Posted 24 November, 2013 on a slight tangent, bit isn't VW coming up for - or close to - a suspension ? Sh!t out of luck if its v Man City. He's on 4 yellows I think. If he picked up a fifth against Chelsea it wouldn't be the end of the world if he missed the Villa game. We'd want him in there up against Yaya Toure though the game after that.
Sour Mash Posted 24 November, 2013 Posted 24 November, 2013 I'm pleased to see he's settled in so quickly. He has so much potential. Yep, but completely irrelevant if they have a "character" behind them in goal. Our changing room must have been a strange place this evening.
BadgerBadger Posted 24 November, 2013 Posted 24 November, 2013 He was a tank today, Arsenal fans giving him and Rodriguez much praise today
RonManager Posted 24 November, 2013 Posted 24 November, 2013 Yep, but completely irrelevant if they have a "character" behind them in goal. Our changing room must have been a strange place this evening. Could I ask you, in all honesty, to use the the word 'Yes' instead of 'Yep'? If you are not prepared to do this, please answer 'No' and not 'Nope'. Thank you so much. I ask this on behalf of the English Language.
pangy Posted 24 November, 2013 Posted 24 November, 2013 Wilshere will know he played against VW in the morning,a few times he completely banjaxed him and didnt even flinch
dubai_phil Posted 24 November, 2013 Posted 24 November, 2013 Sure MLG can find it, but saw a retweeted Stat on Twitter about a week or so ago that VW had "Broken up play" more times this season than any other player in the Top European Leagues The Wilshire bounce was a classic
Zurichsaint Posted 24 November, 2013 Posted 24 November, 2013 Just to save MLG the effort: WhoScored.com @WhoScored 21 Nov .@VictorWanyama: Has won the ball in the middle third of the pitch (67) more times than any other player in Europe's top 5 leagues this term FWIW, I completely agree with the above, he was immense today. Not only was he a rock at the base of midfield, but he also seemed better going forward and retaining possession. After his disaster against Hull, he must be mentally pretty strong as well.
John Boy Saint Posted 24 November, 2013 Posted 24 November, 2013 Watched the game on TV before flying home from abroad last night, Brother-in-Law who follows Chelsea home and away, questioned how the hell he ended up at Celtic after he had cleaned out Whilshire for about the 5th time. Head and shoulders MOM yesterday.

Do you trawl through every thread looking for grammatical errors and bad spelling? Keeps you busy I guess.
Legod Third Coming Posted 24 November, 2013 Posted 24 November, 2013 A pretty stunning coup for us to get him, really. He's a massive player. He will do frustrating things at times, as he's still only 21 remember! Easy to forget, as he plays with such power and maturity. 21?! Wow. The guy is a bull now. Imagine what he's going to be when he grows up. Man Mountain.
Georgie Posted 24 November, 2013 Posted 24 November, 2013 Will be a bit worrying if he picks up a suspension before Cork recovers from his injury. Who will play instead?
S-Clarke Posted 24 November, 2013 Posted 24 November, 2013 Will be a bit worrying if he picks up a suspension before Cork recovers from his injury. Who will play instead? Would imagine Morgan will drop back into Victor's role, and Davis will come in place of him. JWP will probably play Morgans role, and Davis the AMC. Midfield is one area we really don't have to worry about depth wise.
