Jimmy_D Posted 23 November, 2013 Share Posted 23 November, 2013 Arsenal hit the post twice before they scored. I'd say they had the better of the chances and possibly deserve to lead 1-0. Just not in those circumstances. Aye, been all us with their keeper being forced into decent saves more than once since that though.
BotleySaint Posted 23 November, 2013 Share Posted 23 November, 2013 Could well be down to 6th/7th tomorrow Its tough at the top... True but we would all agree we are punching above our weight. Got to be delighted with the start to the season and we've shown enough potential to show we are more then capable of staying up and aiming for the top half. Jonnyboy Posted 23 November, 2013 Share Posted 23 November, 2013 When Stoke won the toss they opted to change ends right before KO. Therefore Boruc had no frame of reference for the conditions when that ball came at him. It was still his responsibility. I think he's a great keeper but if he switches off like today we concede. Simples.
Batman Posted 23 November, 2013 Author Share Posted 23 November, 2013 well, thought we have done well. Big vic has been excellent as have lallana and rodriguez lambert, IMO has not done enough as the lone striker. take abow big vic. lots of great important tackles overall, boruc aside, well done on boruc, he has been excellent this season apart from that. utterly mental but it has been coming with him

Ultimately, yes. Had he been stood on his line he would have stopped it. But how many keepers stand on their line when the opposing keeper has the ball? None. S-Clarke Posted 23 November, 2013 Share Posted 23 November, 2013 I imagine Boruc is about to be given a little talking to by MP. Good half, all being told. Passed the ball well, used it well, created some chances. Overall, it's just the goal that will be spoken about. Stars of the half for me, Jay, Wanyama and Clyne. Killers Knee Posted 23 November, 2013 Share Posted 23 November, 2013 SRL has been an offside passenger all half, expect Osvalso to start the 2nd. JR and VW having absolute stormers, Shaw still looks a bit out of it from the early injury. We are still in this.

Dr. Kucho Posted 23 November, 2013 Share Posted 23 November, 2013 Wanyama is beast, easily are best player on the pitch. Special mention to Ward-Prowse, Jrod, Clyne and Lallana. Continue the way we did and we should get a goal, somehow.

OttawaSaint Posted 23 November, 2013 Share Posted 23 November, 2013 Ballbags! Couldn't get a decent steam, when it finally stopped buffering I was treated to Boruc's cokk-up. Far too casual for a game of this magnitude. We have responded well, so hope we can push on and bag a goal. Maybe this is the stage for Ossie to show his worth... MOSaint Posted 23 November, 2013 Share Posted 23 November, 2013 Will be a sickener if that is the only goal. Still in there, came into the game as the half progressed. Stu Man Do Posted 23 November, 2013 Share Posted 23 November, 2013 Lambert not in the game really yet and we need to get AL more of the ball. JRod playing really well that little spin and run early 1st half was great to watch showing the England hammering he was given by the press has not had an effect! How many teams go to Arsenal and equal them for possession? Lets hope we can up our game another level 2nd half and get back in this

verlaine1979 Posted 23 November, 2013 Share Posted 23 November, 2013 They definitely eased off once they got the goal. Before that they were swarming us every time we had possession at the back making it almost impossible for us to get attacks started. Not a bad performance so far, but Arsenal deservedly ahead, despite the jammy nature of the goal.

CanadaSaint Posted 23 November, 2013 Share Posted 23 November, 2013 Agreed. Lambert not made any real contribution today and looks like a passenger so far. True, but I'd be inclined to make the change for positive rather than negative reasons. I think Osvaldo's mobility, touch and speed are just what we need to throw at Arsenal's back four. With them almost certainly bringing Theo's pace on at some point, I think we'll need to score two to draw.
