Glasgow_Saint Posted 12 November, 2013 Posted 12 November, 2013 Deserves his own thread - having a great season and seems to be improving under MPo - Special mention to Burnley FC too. Having a great season and should take alot of praise for Jrod's rise Well done Rodriguez & Burnley
Wrensup Posted 12 November, 2013 Posted 12 November, 2013 Welbeck is confirmed as out accordingly to my pops, so Jrod to start?

Colinjb Posted 12 November, 2013 Posted 12 November, 2013 Welbeck is confirmed as out accordingly to my pops, so Jrod to start? Has been mentioned. Would be great to see, especially with Adam. We saw how well Welbeck fed from Lambert's delivery. Jay would also benefit from having him on the pitch.... It would be amazing to see a Saints front three up front for England.
Hatch Posted 12 November, 2013 Posted 12 November, 2013 ... It would be amazing to see a Saints front three up front for England. That would be surreal and I would probably cry.

Surely you'd think, to see them at their best Roy will have them all on the pitch at the same time. However this is England were talking about.
sussexsaint Posted 12 November, 2013 Posted 12 November, 2013 Agree Glasgow Is it just me that is fearful of all three picking up an injury in the England game?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 12 November, 2013 Author Posted 12 November, 2013 Agree Glasgow Is it just me that is fearful of all three picking up an injury in the England game? Just enjoy the ride while it lasts We are Southampton the greatest team the world has ever seen
sussexsaint Posted 12 November, 2013 Posted 12 November, 2013 Yeah , but I sang that on the terraces when we had the likes of John Gittens playing for us (2nd spell)
teenagegsaint Posted 12 November, 2013 Posted 12 November, 2013 Are you joking? I still think he's been pretty poor
Saint Charlie Posted 12 November, 2013 Posted 12 November, 2013 Jay is a confidence play but has all the tools to be a really excellent player. Great attitude and physically a perfect forward.
Batman Posted 12 November, 2013 Posted 12 November, 2013 looks all set for j-rod to start can see both lallana and j-rod starting on fri
SaintSteve Posted 12 November, 2013 Posted 12 November, 2013 As hard working as he is.. not good enough yet for the National team.. hope to be proven wrong but don't see him on the plane to Brazil.
bender Posted 12 November, 2013 Posted 12 November, 2013 Have we ever had 3 players playing for England at once ??
Colinjb Posted 12 November, 2013 Posted 12 November, 2013 (edited) Have we ever had 3 players playing for England at once ?? MLG posted something along the lines of this last happening in 1986. Yes: 29th January 1986 - Peter Shilton, Mark Wright & Danny Wallace played in England's 4-0 win vs Egypt Edited 12 November, 2013 by Colinjb
Junior Mullet Posted 12 November, 2013 Posted 12 November, 2013 Deserves his own thread - having a great season and seems to be improving under MPo - Special mention to Burnley FC too. Having a great season and should take alot of praise for Jrod's rise Well done Rodriguez & Burnley Funny, I don't think he's having a particularly great season for us. I think he's done well over the last few games but I think we've seen him play better in spells last year. I would describe his form as sporadic although there are some signs that at last he might be getting to grips with our formation and his role in it. Here's hoping it continues. I think he's been picked for England based mainly on potential rather than form and of course because he play in the trendy wide role in the 3 in a 4-2-3-1 formation. I agree with others that he is a physically fine specimen. If we ever get to see a J Rod fulfil his maximum potential in a Saints shirt it will be something to behold, I'm sure. I hope we do, he seems like a good hard working lad.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 12 November, 2013 Posted 12 November, 2013 Are you joking? I still think he's been pretty poor Yup. That's why he's in the England squad.
UpweySaint Posted 12 November, 2013 Posted 12 November, 2013 http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1847036-charting-the-evolution-of-england-new-boy-jay-rodriguez An interesting article hopefully!
