Leicestersaint Posted 12 November, 2013 Share Posted 12 November, 2013 What a player! What a fantastic game he had against Hull - magnificent interceptions and passes. This is borne out by the analysis in this article: http://squawka.com/news/2013/11/11/this-passing-expert-was-the-real-catalyst-behind-southamptons-thrashing-of-hull/2013111134180 If James W-P carries on like this he will also be pressing for a place in the England senior team. He is awesome.
Minty Posted 12 November, 2013 Share Posted 12 November, 2013 Indeed. I bumped another thread back up about him after the Hull game with these comments: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?47074-James-Ward-Prowse&p=1813297#post1813297
Golden Balls Posted 12 November, 2013 Share Posted 12 November, 2013 He had a fantastic game. Such a brilliant player. He lost possession once in the first half and reacted brilliantly to win it back. Very impressed. Like the Pahars chant for him too.

Brussels Saint Posted 12 November, 2013 Share Posted 12 November, 2013 I'm biased, but his set piece delivery for me is the best I've seen since Beckham. Most impressive stat from the squawka link however was Clyne's heatmap. Our full back spends most of the game in the oppositions half, thats how high we press! LeBenali Posted 14 November, 2013 Share Posted 14 November, 2013 Brilliant free kick delivery then to assist England U21's going 1-0 up against Finland. Rio Ferdinand said in the build up to the game he's the most likely of today's team to make the step up - a real compliment when the likes of Butland, Zaha, Morrison & Sterling are all playing. saintchris23 Posted 14 November, 2013 Share Posted 14 November, 2013 Too many greedy one man team chumps in this squad.
dubai_phil Posted 15 November, 2013 Share Posted 15 November, 2013 Well, Carrick had surgery on his Achilles on Tuesday. Although he is now walking he knows it will be at least 6 weeks before he is playing again and is worried to death of any setbacks as he will miss the plane to Brazil. Knows his spot is under pressure from "the young lads coming through from Southampton (AL & JWP). http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2507842/Michael-Carrick-Dubai-recovering-Achilles-surgery-watching-Rory-McIlroy.html That last question WAS asked when he passed by the media centre, it is not in this article but may turn up on Sky IF they show the full run
Batman Posted 15 November, 2013 Share Posted 15 November, 2013 wasnt he (apparently) offered the chance to go out on loan recently and turned it down to fight for his place?
Turkish Posted 15 November, 2013 Share Posted 15 November, 2013 wasnt he (apparently) offered the chance to go out on loan recently and turned it down to fight for his place? Not sure a out loan but be gave an interview in the summer saying he wasn't happy to sit on the bench and would fight for his first team place. It's worked, he's gone up a level this season,
