MINIBARCELONASAINT Posted 12 November, 2013 Share Posted 12 November, 2013 At club level, the highest number of club-trained players was recorded at Barcelona (7.2). In three other teams, club-trained footballers accounted for the majority of players fielded: Athletic Bilbao, Real Sociedad and Olympique Lyonnais. Saints were second behind Arsenal in the Premier League, with Chambers and Gallagher on the bench. Sociedad made it to the CL this season, so inspiration can be drawn from there! stevegrant Posted 12 November, 2013 Share Posted 12 November, 2013 Not "this weekend" (how do you have .2 of a player in one game?), it's an average per game over the whole season.
The9 Posted 12 November, 2013 Share Posted 12 November, 2013 0.2 of a player in one game is a player who plays for 18 minutes, surely?
Jez Posted 12 November, 2013 Share Posted 12 November, 2013 Which of those Arsenal players were trained by Arsenal? Just Gibbs and Wilshere? Coz Ramsey and Jenkinson certainly weren't but I think they fulfill the "criteria" of having been at the club for three years between the ages of 15 and 21. One of those 3.5 might even be Bendtner too, which doesn't count coz he is barely a footballer. Struggling to work out who the average 3.5 per game actually are looking at their squad. Jez Posted 12 November, 2013 Share Posted 12 November, 2013 Sorry - 3.9. It was Saints that was 3.5.

Szczesny, Gibbs, Wilshere, Walcott, Ramsey and Bendtner would all qualify, while Chamberlain and Ryo Myaichi will have been at Arsenal 3 years next summer. Jenkinson will also have been at Arsenal 3 years next summer, but he'll be 22 by then so wouldn't count.
MINIBARCELONASAINT Posted 12 November, 2013 Author Share Posted 12 November, 2013 Yup, sorry Steve, didn't notice the grey text to the right; I had the same thoughts as The9. It is since the start of the season, that's correct.
