dubai_phil Posted 12 November, 2013 Share Posted 12 November, 2013 They seem to gush everyday about us Adam's story Actually another good read http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2501320/Adam-Lallana-blossoms-time-Englands-World-Cup-2014-campaign.html
SaintBobby Posted 12 November, 2013 Share Posted 12 November, 2013 It's getting absurd now. Has Cortese actually bought up the entire British press in order to not have to bother with PR officers? It'll probably turn nasty when we lose 3-0 to Chile with the Saints players scoring 4/10 or less...:-)

lifeintheslowlane Posted 12 November, 2013 Share Posted 12 November, 2013 We are being quite painfully overhyped No...we've had players featured like this before. What you're uncomfortable with is that they're coming thick and fast at the moment. It's average players, playing for the big clubs who get regularly overhyped. The closest they ever come to admitting we're even playing is including us in the list of fixtures in the middle. Someone has upset them big time. Gemmel Posted 12 November, 2013 Share Posted 12 November, 2013 I liked this paragraph Lallana was part of the acclaimed side which reached the FA Youth Cup final in 2005 and lost to Ipswich, although he was on the bench with Bale. Walcott started, as did Swansea winger Nathan Dyer, Ipswich’s David McGoldrick, Barnsley’s Martin Cranie and Blackburn striker Leon Best. Colinjb Posted 12 November, 2013 Share Posted 12 November, 2013 and to think it wasn't that long ago lots on here claimed we didn't need the media or want their attention. Guess we do now right? No point saying f**k off. The media is there to be used, after all they would use us for their own ends without a second thought. Makes sense to close ranks if it could damage us and be more open if it can benefit.
alpine_saint Posted 12 November, 2013 Share Posted 12 November, 2013 Love Le Tissier's comment at the end MLT has quite a sharp self-depreciating wit. Feet still firmly opn the ground. Top bloke still, despite the NC feud and Pinnacle debacle.
Gemmel Posted 12 November, 2013 Share Posted 12 November, 2013 and to think it wasn't that long ago lots on here claimed we didn't need the media or want their attention. Guess we do now right? Sometimes we do need the media - You could argue Cortese needed and used them in the summer, with the "I will quit" stories. At the moment they all seem to be gushing over us, which is nice, in the sense we can read how great we are etc. but there is still part of me that would like to be a little bit more below the radar. But this is the Premier league so whether we want their attention or not, it's tough luck, we've got it and there is nothing that anyone - Cortese including, can do a about it....... It just comes down to managing it in a way that could be used to our advantage ..... and I would say we are doing a pretty good job with that right now. Made me lol.

Our new England boys Don't fit in?? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2503707/England-squad-arrive-The-Grove-hotel.html New boys Lallana and Rodriguez need a guiding hand................ ......Newbies Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez appeared to be far less certain about the national team's protocol. Let's hope this is the only time in the next fortnight they look out of place.
