petermcpete Posted 10 November, 2013 Share Posted 10 November, 2013 Anyone else going to this? I've never been to Wembley before, and am sitting somewhere up in the clouds, but would absolutely love to see our boys play well and show Roy they deserve to stay there! Any good (read: cheap) pubs nearby?

SNSUN Posted 10 November, 2013 Share Posted 10 November, 2013 Team Davis Clyne Stephens Turnbull Shaw Ward-Prowse Chambers Cork Lallana Jay Rod Lambert Subs...The Yufff Score..Saints 3-0 Chile. COYS:) Ha! Coincidentally I was trying to work out the other day whether we could field an all English team - we can but it'd get beat a lot. The team I came up with was virtually identical to yours, but with Reed in midfield in place of Chambers. You can't deny though, the future's bright, the future's English! As for Friday, I just hope the Saints lot get decent game time. Fingers crossed.

Chambers is a very good right back..... but I see him.... in time... as a holding midfield player......hopefully Victor will stick around for some time to come. Hopefully all our Saints play well for England:D
JRM Posted 10 November, 2013 Share Posted 10 November, 2013 any updates on players dropping out of the squad so far ? assume Wellbeck is out , hopefully Glen Johnson as well and they'll call up Clyne as a replacement.
Saint Garrett Posted 10 November, 2013 Share Posted 10 November, 2013 Would be interesting to see who Hodgson starts with. Would be great to have Adam JRod and Rickie all starting vs Chile. Would expect Hodgson may start JRod in Welbecks normal place as he's dropped out, and maybe Adam in the whole. Will probably start with normal dross though. Ruddy; Johnson Cahill Jagielka Baines; Wilshere Gerrard; Townsend Lallana JRod; Lambert
Turkish Posted 10 November, 2013 Share Posted 10 November, 2013 Think all 3 will start at least one game each. Rodriguez and Lallana definitely will.
dan abnormal Posted 10 November, 2013 Share Posted 10 November, 2013 Its a shame Walcott and AOC aren't fit. Would have been excellent to see a front 4 out of Lambert, Lallana, Jrod,AOC and Walcott representing England. Even if they aren't here anymore, 3 academy products and Lambert would be quite something.

Dimond Geezer Posted 11 November, 2013 Share Posted 11 November, 2013 I'm going with the kids, I'll be sat way up high somewhere. What's the best way to get there? I was thinking about parking away from the stadium & getting the tube in, does anyone have any advice?
david in sweden Posted 11 November, 2013 Share Posted 11 November, 2013 if Roy is hoping to emulate our performances...? he must play all three at the same time. Expecting those other England dead-legs to keep up with our pace would be a waste of time.

I was thinking about parking away from the stadium & getting the tube in, does anyone have any advice? I'm from Uxbridge way, and a lot of Wembley visitors seem to stop off there. Uxbridge is just off the M25 via the M40 or M4, there are plenty of multi storey car parks in the town centre and the Met line will take you to Wembley in about 35 minutes. Saves driving through west London especially as the a40 is rammed in the evenings.

Carrick, meanwhile, will almost certainly be joined on the list of absentees by Red Devils striker Danny Welbeck. Although the striker was named in Hodgson's squad on Thursday, he has not featured at club level since coming on as substitute against Southampton on October 19. Moyes has said Welbeck is suffering from fluid on the knee and as the 22-year-old was not involved on Sunday, it does not seem likely he will be released for England duty. Door opens further for JRod & Adam Or... JRod only gets called up as the last English striker (apart from SRL) still actually playing football Edited 11 November, 2013 by dubai_phil

JRod only gets called up as the last English striker (apart from SRL) still actually playing football sadly, i don't see srl starting. al yes, jrod, possibly, but my gut says that srl will come on, and sadly, it will be after one of the other two have come off. hope of hopes, all three start, or at the very least get on the pitch together at the same time, if only for a great photo of the three of them together on the pitch. even better, they link up with each other and one, any of them, score. i know, dream on, but look how the season has gone so far, who knows? Give it to Ron Posted 11 November, 2013 Share Posted 11 November, 2013 Thanks chaps, I'll give it some thought. If up from southampton then park in Old Deer Leap car park at Richmond after 6 is free, 5 mins walk to station. Overground a couple of stops then tube straight into Wembley Park - although I did queue for nearly an hour after the last game!

This is an opportunity for experimentation and the results are not the be-all and end-all that they have been. I would expect to see most, if not all, of the squad members get some time in these two games.
