OldNick Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 We have an English nucleus to our team, will that reflect on how we are viewed by the neutral fans? I suspect more people will wish us well now we have a more home based team and many will want their own teams to go that way
Saint Charlie Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 They will assume their club can copy us and play the same way but be better.
OldNick Posted 10 November, 2013 Author Posted 10 November, 2013 I was wondering more,if only very English team would gain us a bit more support or goodwill ,which in turn may gain us more supporters. I find it refreshing to see bright homegrown players pulling on our shirt.something that is reversing the erosion of the last 20 or so years
DuncanRG Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 It's driven by media. Carragher, Neville and Hansen start heaping praise on Saints and everyone else will do the same. We seem to have a growing global presence as well - more and more people are getting involved across social besides Kenyans, Japanese etc with links to specific players.

CB Fry Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Do you mean on Facebook etc . We're now massive in all Oriental nations because of our kit being all red and that.
ericofarabia Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 They are all thinking thank god Cortese isn't our (*) (insert whatever his official title is) ;-0
DuncanRG Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Do you mean on Facebook etc . Yeah. Tumblr in particular, though it's on a smaller scale. It was near enough impossible to find Saints content on there last season but now there's plenty.
OldNick Posted 10 November, 2013 Author Posted 10 November, 2013 We're now massive in all Oriental nations because of our kit being all red and that. yep you are right again. I doubt that it is just the reason though
Turkish Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 'Superb' 'amazing' 'no reason why you can't make the champions league on what I've seen' are the comments I've had today from Leeds fans in my local. Of course I put them right.

John D Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 I was at a kids party today and it was great to chat with all the Utd, City and Liverpool Dads there. They were all complimentary about Saints and impressed with how we are playing. The City fans weren't confident at getting a result when they play us I commented that if Lovren got injured then we could struggle however the City view is that they are no different and depend on Kompany and Aguerro - as proved later in the day Really refreshing to listen to the compliments!
lordswoodsaints Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Anybody heard anything from Pompey fans......sssshhhhhhhhhhh

david in sweden Posted 11 November, 2013 Posted 11 November, 2013 They will assume their club can copy us and play the same way but be better. they'll have to wait a while for that - because that the vast majority of Prem.club managers AREN'T English and couldn't care a tinkers cuss about what happens to the national side. .....strange that it takes an Swiss / Italian (?) and an Argentinian to fly the flag for us.
david in sweden Posted 11 November, 2013 Posted 11 November, 2013 Anybody heard anything from Pompey fans......sssshhhhhhhhhhh .....do they still exist,? I thought they went out with the Dodo !
