Lighthouse Posted 10 November, 2013 Share Posted 10 November, 2013 Just as an idea, what if every time there were international fixtures we played a 'B team' fixture against another nations B team. Not necessarily the same nation the first team were playing but another competitive European or world nation. The idea being that players like Lallana, Lambert, Clyne etc would get to train with the 'A Team' and the England coaching staff and play in a fixture with similar players on the fringes of the squad. Let's suppose there was a rule that only players with 5 caps or less for the first team were eligible. As far as I am aware there are no such plans for something like this, I'm just wondering if people would support the idea.
Turkish Posted 10 November, 2013 Share Posted 10 November, 2013 Most friendlies are effectively b team games by the half time once you've had the inevitable multitude of withdraws, agreements with clubs for key players that don't withdraw to only play 45 minutes and so on.
