Sheaf Saint Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Wowzer. I fully expected both Spurs and Citeh to win today to drop us down to 5th. Now we are 3rd on full merit having played the exact same number of games as the teams below us, and if Utd can beat Arsenal then we will stay two points off top.
Delboy Dave Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 I tell ya! It's a fkin strange feeling not wanting city to score in order to help us out!!!!
adrian lord Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 It's psychologically impossible for me to want a Manu win, I just can't do it.
aintforever Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Even weirder wanting Man Utd to win to give us a chance of going top!
Nolan Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Can we pray for a Man U Win, so we have some HUGE points to play for in 13 days.
Jimmy_D Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 So... safe to say it's been a good week for us?
Colinjb Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Sickness bug has swept through the Arsenal dressing room!! #itshappening!!!!
adrian lord Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 When we got promoted from championship I remember thinking it would be many years that we might have to wait until we could once again sing "we are Southampton, we're top of the league". It might, just might, be singable in a few weeks with some luck and great performances.
Minty Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 So... safe to say it's been a good week for us? Arguably one of the best in a LONG time (Cup win and promotions aside).
Hokie Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Hoping for a draw, so both ManU and Arsenal drop points. I'd rather a top 4 finish at the end of the season than to (possibly) sit in top position after 12 games.

Jack Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Decent day today! Great results so far. City losing messed up my acca, but I had a free £5 from Paddy Power which I stuck on Sunderland 1-0 at 22/1. Rooney 2-0 or 2-1 would be the icing on the cake!
sad saints fan Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 I wish I could go back in time 5 years and take this thread with me. I would be called insane by most posters(myself included)
whelk Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Man City have now lost four times as many league games as us and conceded over twice the amount of goals
Olallana Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Swansea-Stoke 0-2.......is it opposite sunday or something today?
Batman Posted 10 November, 2013 Author Posted 10 November, 2013 the europa league must be killing swanseas season
DG Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Fulham to sack Jol and improve, leading to West Ham's relegation. Please.
Saint_clark Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 So Bardsley scores again, 2nd goal in 2 games, don't think he'd ever scored for them before. Great move by Mauricio, playing our bis XI, boosted their confidence and allowed Bardsley to learn how to score. Scored against us last season for them.
Olallana Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 the europa league must be killing swanseas season It´s those qualification games in august due to League Cup win that´s the killer
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Can't believe we are wanting Utd to beat Arsenal to stay in touch with the top team. I know Alps will hate me saying this, but, considering how far we've come in such a short space of time it does make your head spin a bit, well mine at least. That was some finish by RVP, great header. We're gonna win the league
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 the europa league must be killing swanseas season Spurs, City & Swansea all losing to teams not in Euro competitions today.
Jimmy_D Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 (edited) Way back... this was meant to be the last year of a five year plan just to get back in the Prem, and it was called waaay too ambitious to be able to do it that quickly. Now we sit here so far this season competing in the top four, might have a chance to go top a third of the way through the season next gameweek, and we're being praised as the future of English football. Football. Bloody Hell. Edited 10 November, 2013 by Jimmy_D
Batman Posted 10 November, 2013 Author Posted 10 November, 2013 Spurs, City & Swansea all losing to teams not in Euro competitions today. the europa league is clearly not good for prem teams look at newcsatle last season too chelsea won it but have a ridiculous squad
kwsaint Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 NCs ambition for Champions League football not looking so silly now. Feet on the ground time. Got to just keep going and not get carried away. We are a bit good at the moment. Is it just me or are we all starting to lose it?

Georgie Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Flamini booked and misses the game against us

Got to just keep going and not get carried away. We are a bit good at the moment. Is it just me or are we all starting to lose it? We've had nearly half a decade of chairman setting expectations far higher than the most optimistic fans even dared to really hope for, and then the team beating those expectations every single time. It's hard not to get carried away. If we stop rising, fall back a bit, then we'll finally start waking up heh.
Olallana Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Apparently Flaminis 5th yellow so he´s out against us...
Sheaf Saint Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Flamini booked and misses game against us.
Rut Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Based on the first half of Man Utd v Arsenal I reckon Saints will rest a few key players for the trip to Highbury in a couple of weeks. Keep them fresh for the tough games ahead.
Lighthouse Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 So if it stays like this we are 3 points behind Arsenal. Liverpool have an early kick off next match day, away in the Merseyside derby. IF Man Utd win today and Liverpool don't win at Goodison, we will start at the Emirates knowing a win could see us top.

Keep them fresh for the tough games ahead. I'm willing to bet most of our players don't travel to Highbury.

Sheaf Saint Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Another couple of goals for Utd would do nicely - bring Arsenals GD down a little bit.
Jimmy_D Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Another couple of goals for Utd would do nicely - bring Arsenals GD down a little bit. Just one more would see us above them with any win against them.
sandwichsaint Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Which forum genius said last weekend we had missed our last chance to go second? a) Glasgow or b) Barry?
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 anyone noticed Swansea's come back? where'd that come from?
SNSUN Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 anyone noticed Swansea's come back? where'd that come from? From being a better team than Stoke! :-) G'aaaan Swansea!
Olallana Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 How many games did Hughes last for QPR last year? 11, 12 ??
norwaysaint Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 v.poor first half from Arsenal. Learning the hard way you can't take 3 points for granted vs mid-table teams this season.
Sheaf Saint Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 (edited) anyone noticed Swansea's come back? where'd that come from? Looking at the BBC match stats it's no more than Swansea deserve. Stoke have only had 35% possession and scored with their only two shots on target. Edit: scored with their only three shots on target! 96th minute equaliser! Edited 10 November, 2013 by Sheaf Saint
